He'll only be "one-term Cruz" because he'll have moved on to a higher position.

Two points:
The left (both the DemocRATS and the GOPe)FEARS Ted Cruz mightily.
I liked Ted Olson’s wife (Barbara, who was killed in the 9/11 plane that was crashed into the Pentagon) but feel that Olson himself is just a legal “whore” who says whatever his clients want him to.

a law that would have prevented the president's mother and father from getting married and being in Virginia at the time that he was born. If only.

Prominent Republican lawyer, Ted Olson, who is a strong supporter of LGBT rights, thought Cruz's comments on marriage equality were "very, very sad." <<
I find the fact that Ted Olson still calls himself a "Republican" lawyer to be "very, very sad."
Time to come out of the closet and register as a Democrat, Ted. You've had enough time cheerleading for their agenda constantly while pretending to be "our" side.

Unlike race which is a characteristic of the physical body, society experiences a person's sexuality through their behavior. And society has the right to take behavior into account when making law. This makes homosexuality and race fundamentally different when it comes to how society defines marriage. The same logic does not apply to both. Thus it's entirely possible for Cruz to make a valid argument against homosexual marriage that would have been invalid if made against interracial marriage. The fact that he's making it does not make him a bigot or retrograde; it makes him correct.

Just lost all respect for Olson. It is no way analagous to racism. One’s race is an immutable characteristic of human beings and should never be used to discriminate. Alternatively, one’s sexual behavior is a personal choice, despite claims that individuals are born gay. The bottom line is that society has a right to define marriage as a union between a man and woman.

How would he know? He wasn't in the Movement. One thing that was very striking about it was the enormous involvement of black churches in the South and white churches in the rest of the country and white ministers from outside of the South who went south to participate, all believing the biblical teaching that marriage was between a man and woman.
As one who was there and heard those involved, I find this an insult to those who made the Movement a success, black and white. Almost all of the blacks of Mississippi who were involved at great risk would not agree with Ted.

Hey, Ted -- Being black isn't a "lifestyle." If a black person doesn't declare that he's black, people don't go around wondering whether he is or not. And being black doesn't DEFINE a behavior that the Almighty
specifically warned against the Bible!!! Hello, TED?????? Anybody home?????????
A non-celibate homosexual BY DEFINITION is engaging in specific lifestyle that, incidentally, is a Biblical sin. Any homosexual must DECLARE that he or she is homosexual, otherwise, in the course of normal events, no one would likely know the person was homosexual anymore than they would know if the person liked broccoli or butternut squash!
Since when is it "anti-gay" to oppose forced-by-government COOPERATION with a DECLARED LIFESTYLE? When the same "anti-gay" person would say, "It's none of my business" if a local baker bakes a cake for a pretend homosexual 'wedding' or if a local business owner decides to extend spousal benefits to homosexual employees -- just don't expect me to do the same." How is that "anti gay," exactly?
And Ted Olson is a Republican! A Republican who apparently believes that it is government's job to FORCE all Americans to accommodate pretend homosexual "marriage" as if it was the same as genuine marriage between man and woman!
WAY TOO MANY Republicans, from Romney to Olson to Cochran to McConnell, advocate the very things, such as using government to FORCE me to accommodate open homosexuals, that I've been voting Republican all of my adult life to PREVENT!
One more sign that the Republican party is in its death throes. I wish it wasn't, but if wishes were fishes, we'd have some fried.
