A 2016 poll came out in New Hampshire this week that carried some very bad news for Chris Christie.
The survey, conducted by WMUR-TV, showed the New Jersey governor at 3 percent in the New Hampshire primary, putting him in 11th place in the field -- and two points behind reality show "star"/political huckster Donald Trump. Worse for Christie is that when WMUR last polled the New Hampshire primary back in February, he took 9 percent of the vote.
So, in the space of less than three months, Christie's support dropped by two-thirds in perhaps the one state where he must do well if he wants to be a serious-ish candidate for the nomination. As WMUR's John DiStaso, the dean of Granite State political reporters, writes on the poll:
"If a poll with such a tightly packed field can signal concern for any one contender, it would be for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who dropped from 9 percent in February to 3 percent, even after rolling out an entitlement reform plan that received positive reviews for its candor."
Yup.
We are accordingly dropping Christie to No. 8 in our list of the 10 most likely 2016 GOP nominees. But why aren't we dropping Christie from our rankings altogether? Because what 2012 taught us is that the presidential cycle is composed of a series of smaller boom/bust cycles that propel or hamstring candidates....

Stolen!
All I am saying is, we need to pay attention to our country’s economic future.
Nobody is saying anything about that. We have been selling out America now for over one entire generation.
It gets worse, and worse, and worse.
That is to me, becoming the critical issue.
Cruz/Palin 2016!!
Not one single solitary ounce of sophistication or wisdom came out of his mouth when I saw him speak at the Iowa Ag Summit.
How is that the president’s job? Or are you for big government telling businesses what to do and what to make?
To an extent yes, it is the president’s job.
Our president is representing all Americans.
All Americans benefit, if Americans are supporting American businesses.
Not Chinese factories, but American factories.
I think we just found a subject we don’t agree on.
But it’s a big one. :D
Go read the constitution.
All I am saying is, America first.
Like I said.
We clearly don’t agree on this issue. Big time.
No, I’m all for bringing manufacturing and other businesses back to the United States. However, I don’t see the government’s role in changing that, except at the margins. This isn’t Soviet Russia.
Like I said.
We are clearly not on the same page, on the subject of American manufacturing.
That said, I am in a (big) minority on this subject. So I would be more surprized if we agreed on this subject.
But this subject is becoming more important. In my opinion, we need to strongly work at bringing back American industry.
This is just my opinion, however.
I don’t remember voting on off shoring and lowering tariffs to destructive levels. So would you be in favor of replacing income taxes with tariffs, sales and user fees?
You voted for representatives who then voted for those things. We live in a Republic, not a Democracy.
BOTH Parties are in bed with corporations to shut out the American worker. Marx would approve of this. This UniParty Govt - Corporation partnership is crime is fascism. So which are you supporting fascism or Marxism?
I sort of agree with you on this.
Both parties have sold out American workers.
Both parties.
And they have sold out American workers, to China. A massive communist country, which doesn’t even have elections, or allow Americans to immigrate.
That is a complete sell-out, in my opinion.
Nice personal attack.
It’s a nasty thing off shoring. It is destroying the economy and ruining lives. So that wasn’t a personal attack it was just a question. We are in a war and a lot of out fellow Americans are making a buck off of the misery of others. That is not hyperbole it is truth.
They want GOP or nothing. They don't actually care what his positions are. As long as their team 'wins'
I figure that leaves it up to me and folks like me to make sure to send Cruz money and make sure he is the primary winner.
Conservatives are pissed off this election.
/johnny
We know that illegal immigration is out of control. I would like to see the numbers you are complaining about for legal immigration.

I heard in one of Cruz’s speeches where he addressed the regulation issue that was sending businesses overseas. He is anti regulation, bigtime and has experience in that area. He was saying that deregulating and lowering corporate tax rates would bring back the two trillion dollars of investment money that is currently banked overseas, create businesses and begin to restore manufacturing here.
Like you, I think we need to hear more of this.
I’m a 100% VA-rated housebound/permanently & totally disabled veteran. That’s the “buck” I’m making. And my wife sells eyeglasses in a department store. You ought to see our palatial mansion.
