The 3 presidential candidates throwing a wrench in Mitch McConnell's plans

When Sen. Rand Paul (R) of Kentucky brought floor action on the Patriot Act to a standstill early last Saturday, he underscored the challenge that Senate majority leader Mitch McConnell has with his three ideological freshman senators seeking the presidency.

The other two senators are Ted Cruz (R) of Texas and Marco Rubio (R) of Florida. As presidential aspirants, they have broken with GOP tradition and are not patiently “waiting their turn” for a shot at the Oval Office. According to longtime congressional observers, such lawmakers have no Senate tradition or deep love of the institution.

Senator Paul’s campaign slogan, for one, is “defeat the Washington machine.”

“There’s a new breed in the Senate, and we have seen the manifestations of it,” Sen. John McCain (R) of Arizona said after the Senate showdown, according to The Washington Post.

“It’s a totally different era,” says Jim Manley, who was the spokesman for former majority leader Harry Reid (D) of Nevada in 2008....

It’s a shocker that Rubio is expending time and energy for this. I didn’t know the illegals cared about such things...

And exactly what has the “wait your turn” method done for us in the last two Presidential elections?

2008 - A senile Republican who is so delusional that he doesn’t realize that he is actually a Democrat.

2012 - A Republican that could challenge Gov. Perry for the “Good Hair” title and a 1920’s travel trunk SET full of Democrat policies helping bring Massachusetts further down the toilet bowl!!

If this is what we have to “wait for,” why wait? We can vote for Democrats today! Screw the Washington, D.C. GOP-e choices; THEY SUCK!

If there is one thing we see it is that the establishment is made up of of elected officials that have made Congress their field of dreams. Note.. it is THEIR Field of Dreams not ours.

I don’t agree with everything about Rand Paul, but he has nothing in common with McConnell. Neither do some of the other fresh faces. The GOP leadership that includes McConnell is happy with the status quo where the elites get what they want and the people get the diminished crumbs. Immigration reform, more immigrants from all over the world, H1B visas that destroy a US college education, trade pacts that screw Americans, and less freedom for all via a bigger govt are perfect examples.

Sad, but true.

Disappointing to the few of us thinking people in the Bluegrass State.

McConnell knows that a President Cruz will lobby Senators to remove him as Majority Leader. Why we should have to wait that long is a complete mystery.

“they have broken with GOP tradition and are not patiently “waiting their turn” for a shot at the Oval Office.”

This is exactly what is wrong with politics. The RINOs in Washington determine who is going to run. Screw that. I want the best Conservative.

Mitch has nothing to fear. Once the lesser evil army gets mobilized, he will get his liberalism, the army will call it conservatism and America gets forked. Again. Same as usual.

I don’t like Paul and I don’t like McConnell. NO “Establishment”Republicans should be nominated. Enough is enough!

Breaking with GOP tradition seems a minor infraction when compared to comrade dictator obama breaking with the Constitution.

Mitch is happy with the bankster status quo but he’d be just as happy with a President Paul. As long McConnell is in power, he’ll be happy. He’s not a sincere believer in anything, whereas Walnuts McCain is.
