When the Republican presidential candidates debated Thursday evening, some Pennsylvanians got their first look at the field — and a handful of others were watching to see how their early investments are turning out..

Commonwealth residents make up only a small fraction of the gusher of financial contributions that already are flooding the 2016 presidential race.

A Morning Call analysis of recent campaign filings shows Pennsylvanians have given more than $622,000 directly to the GOP contenders, or about 1.6 percent of the candidates' total contributions from individuals.

So Cruz's fundraising from one medium-sized state that's nowhere near his home is far more than Santorum's haul from all 50 states? Am I reading that correctly?

Teds’s support is greatly underestimated. He’s gone into town halls where not many persons were enthusiastic about him. And he’s come out of those town halls with almost last person fired up, spreading the word and supporting him 100%. There were campaign workers for Walker who admitted Ted Cruz gave the best received speeches over everyone in the field and even they could not hide their excitement for Ted Cruz.

Although he’s in Donald Trump’s wake now, it’s still early and I predict 8 months from now people are going to be torn over whether they vote for Cruz or Trump. The only solution is Trump/Cruz 2016.
