GOP's Ted Cruz gets support from Nevada lawmaker Jim Wheeler, former Scott Walker co-chair

CARSON CITY, Nevada — Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is picking up an endorsement from a former member of Scott Walker's Nevada campaign team.

The Texas senator's campaign announced this week that Republican Nevada Assemblyman Jim Wheeler is backing him. Wheeler had served as co-chair of Walker's campaign until the Wisconsin governor dropped out of the race two weeks ago....

Why would anyone want someone from Walker’s team involved with their campaign? That had to be one of the most ill-managed campaigns in US history.

These are state and local and former officials or activists who endorsed him and were named “chairs” or “co-chairs” or similar. They weren’t professional campaign aides like the guy below:

Strategists and advisers are the ones who are all about money. These state and local people are generally working on the campaign for free.

Michigan state senator Pat Colbeck was named Michigan campaign chair for Cruz yesterday and is a very solid conservative. I would think there would be some legal issues with paying a sitting senator to work on a campaign but they can do it for free.
