Donald Trump's continued dominance of the Republican presidential field has confounded many top pollsters and analysts since he soared to the top of the field in July. And a new poll shows that Trump may not be finished surprising them yet.
A CBS poll released on Sunday found Trump largely in the same position he has been in most major polls in the last several months: on top.
The real-estate mogul again led the pack, with 27% of likely Republican primary voters picking him as their preferred nominee as of today.

I think Trump’s success is more of a punch-in-the-face to the establishment GOP than anything else. People are simply fed up with Washington and the big gov’t tax-and-spend policies that we see. This is even more true when you look at what the are spending our money on: programs to buy votes. Gees...free cell phones for deadbeats! What’s the purpose...other than buying votes.

I agree. . .and do you have one for every republican candidate? FReeper haters show up whenever a republican candidate that is NOT their anointed one is in the news and flail/hate away.

That is very true. I'm for Cruz myself.
However, it seems there are more, as well as more vocal Trump haters than any of the others.

"People haven't given [the candidates] more than two seconds' worth of attention. ... Calm down it's not a tennis match where you're going back and forth all the time," Silver said. "Keep calm."Nate Silver betrays the mounting fear the establishment has about Trump-- Ohmigod, what if he really is for real? Panic time.

It evaporated when he demonstrated the ability to not follow DC group-think.

People prefer Trump because they don’t want to vote for “more of the same medicine” that is killing them.

Main cause: Voters are pissed at lying republican career politicians. They say one thing before election, then then after election, they go back to obeying their rich donors.
