Not sure what Iowa forecast you’re looking at, but Monday should be well above freezing, with perhaps a little rain, mostly in southeast Iowa.

I was looking at weather.com:

"Monday that low-pressure system will gather steam in the southern or central Plains. This will spread snow from the Four Corners region of the Southwest into the High Plains. The low-pressure system is forecast to move northeastward and intensify, reaching the mid-Mississippi Valley Tuesday. Again, the track of the storm is crucial, as heavy snow should persist to the north and northwest of the low track. Indications are that the heaviest snow will hammer parts of the central Plains into the Upper Midwest Tuesday."

Interesting. On the Weather.com site, they were predicting a storm that would “hammer” the states in that area. But then, I never trust forecasts 5 days out - maybe 2 days. By Saturday we should have a better feel for it.

Timing is everything regarding the weather at caucus time on Monday
night in Iowa. If finished by 9pm or so and the forecast holds
all may be well. But some areas will get hit earlier than others.

Des Moines Iowa, Weather Underground

Becoming windy with snow likely after midnight.
Low 29F. Winds NE at 20 to 30 mph. Chance of
snow 80%. Snow accumulating 1 to 3 inches.
