Veterans have come out against Sarah Palin after she said in a speech on Wednesday that PTSD caused her son Track’s alleged domestic abuse
‘As a combat vet, EXTREMELY disgusted by #SarahPalin blaming PTSD 4 domestic abuse,’ wrote one man on Twitter
Another said: ‘Speaking as a combat vet who literally slept in the same barracks as Track Palin, his mother is wrong and her son is not a victim’
Paul Rieckhoff, who heads Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America, also criticized Palin for blaming the incident on President Obama
Brandon Friedman, former digital media director for the Department of Veterans Affairs, criticized Palin for not mentioning the victim of the attack

I think she should steer clear of questions about her family, but just because this guy was in the same barracks as Track when they were serving together, what gives him any insight into the man’s mental state now? It’s a BS issue all-round.
Tough to sit on top of Mt. Olympus and play judge on this one, even if I’d been there and done that. PTSD does not affect every person in the same way even if they’ve had similar or worse experiences.
In my experience, almost all PTSD claims are bullshit. Men need to get on with their lives.
Articles like this make it sound like “veterans” are of one mindset, that they all think this or that. It’s just silly.

I think “slam” is the most overused word in political headlines.
I was extremely disappointed in her. She’s permanently lost me.
Only problem, this oft-repeated story on FR is not true. No “veterans” involved in this fiction. False and phony anti-Palin retread.

Many factors can add up to temptations, including the sins of others, and yet the immediate sinner has a part in the sin too.
She should be careful with a deflecting finger lest it spin around and point back at her, or her household.

Sooner or later, she’ll be joined there by Donald Trump.

That said, since I have never served I can’t know what it is like...but I do see a lot of mental problems from Vets. Surely some of those Vets weren’t predisposed to that behavior before their service.

Everyone seems to think because you are a Veteran that you are Republican and patriotic....well that is not true. The military is a cross section of America and these folks slamming Sarah Palin may be for Hillary or Bernie and making hay out of something that Sarah said that is true for HER SON and maybe not every person with PTSD.
