So you think that delegates loyal to Cruz and Trump (the majority) will vote to rescind Rule 40?

If you look at how states (not all, but at least a couple) have organized the delegate deal....the delegate is tied to candidate for the first round ONLY. After that first vote....state-by-state...there’s differing rules. I suspect that a quarter-to-half of Cruz delegates are fairly open to swing their votes and go after rule 40 by the 3rd day of this affair. Even for Trump....I’ll bet that a quarter to half of his delegates really aren’t iron-clad Trump people like you’d think.

Go back and examine the 1920 GOP convention. The number 6 guy (Harding) from the primary....won....because no one could settle upon any of the top three guys. By the late stage of the convention...a couple of guys swung the vote, and suddenly Harding had enough to win.

The Majority of the delegates are not loyal to either Cruz or Trump. They are State Party elites, officers and donors. This is not the Political machines first time- they were well prepared to stop the Tea Party...

They will do as the GOPe directs them. Foolish to assume they would have relinquished their power base to either Cruz or Trump.
