If I were on of the other electors, I’d spit in his face.

“It’s about 6 seats below 2/3, which allows fifteen or so liberal Republicans to join Democrats to name the Speaker.”

One or two terms prior, it was just about 2/3’s, yet they still chose that LOSER as Speaker.

It’s just PATHETIC. I haven’t Republican at the State House in years, and will not do it again until they show me that they can elect a Speaker who is somewhat conservative.

It will be interesting to see what the Texas GOP does regarding binding
electors after this year. 21 states do not bind them and Texas is one of those.

San Antonio’s Alamo Heights areas insists on keeping Straus; a conservative named Jeff Judson barely registered in the March 1 primary against Straus.

They’re welcome to keep him, but why the hell do the House Republicans, the vast majority claiming to be CONSERVATIVE, keep electing him to be their leader? They could consider supporting someone else, for once.

Maybe a little Divine Intervention could happen to this faithless elector.
