Bernie Sanders leads the pack of potential Democratic 2020 candidates with 28 percent of the vote, followed by Joe Biden with 17 percent and Elizabeth Warren at 12 percent, according to a new poll by Zogby.
Between the three of them, they have 57 percent of the vote. Their average age on Inauguration Day 2021 would be nearly 76 years old. Okay, Trumps no spring chicken either, hed be 74. But so much for the Democrats injecting new blood into their leadership, at least for now.
Of course, the poll shows several potentially attractive to leftists anyway but unproven younger contenders, including Kamala Harris and Mark Zuckerberg, and well as veteran pol Andrew Cuomo. But Id say overall, these are leftist candidates out of step with most of America whom Trump can beat in the same way he sunk Hillary Clinton.

I see the list conveniently omits Hillary.

The Democrats have a history of letting a newcomer come forward in Iowa &/or NH cycles like these. In 1976 it Was Jimmy Carter, in 1984 it was Gary Hart (who sabotaged himself), in 2004 it was Howard Dean (who also sabotaged himself). They go to war horses like Mondale, Kerry and Mrs. Clinton when no one steps up or someone who steps up falters.
My prediction is that there will be a newcomer or a second/third tier player who is not a white man who will rise to the occasion, possibly with Sander’s blessing. I believe the default candidate would be Elizabeth Warren, who will go down as all Massachusetts’ candidates since JFK have gone, but she might keep the factions together.

No Hillary, Deval Patrick, Cory Booker, Mitch Landrieu?

Hillarys camp will push McAuliffe.
His Clinton connections would make him a FUN target in the general. His $$$ ties with the Clintons are deep and long. He doesn't exactly inspire the Dem's base or get the black/Hispanic/Deviant/College vote. He is more likely VP material.

I thought Not Sure became President sometime around 2505, but maybe I’m wrong.

Kamala Harris.
Definitely a Dem player. It remains to be seen if she can get traction in Iowa or New Hampshire. CA is kind of late in the game. If the Hollywood left settles on her, that could make a difference in the money race, which may bring her other kinds of momentum.
