McConnell: Trump 'doesn't get nearly enough credit'
The Politico ^ | October 22, 2017 | Rebecca Morin

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Sunday said President Donald Trump doesn't get enough credit on all that he's done, such as the appointments he's made, which McConnell said will "get the country growing again."

"I think President Trump doesn't get nearly enough credit for the changes that he's brought about that are unrelated to legislation," McConnell (R-Ky.) said in an interview with CNN's "State of the Union."

Those internal polls must be a lot different than the ones they let us see.

Was Mitch awake when he said this?
Ask him now, and he may not be able to recall ever holding such a thought. “My Goodness!, Don’t you guys know humor when you hear it?”

I forgive everything bad about McConnell for ONE reason and that is a very good reason whose good effects will last 30-40 years. And that is, McConnell held of the Obama SCOTUS nominee Garland for almost a year, single handedly. That is why we have justice Gorsuch. Never forget that! This gift by McConnell will keep on giving long after McConnell is gone from the senate.

Exactly! And I have suspected that Mitch’s toughness on Garland was because he saw it as a referendum on his parliamentary skills. If I were Trump, I’d pitch every bill to him in this way. Let McConnell share the glory when they pass.

I despise the RINOs as much as anyone on this forum, but I’d rather have them on the train so that we can spend our ammunition fighting the left.

MITCH has been working the swamp moss forever, in the style of the Bush/Bill Kristol neocons.

I so blame the intentional sleepiness of the RINO mafia for the Godless, accelerated cliff walk they permitted to engulf the USA into darkness, since Ford, Bush, Dole, Bush, Romney, and McCain served their intentions.

Honestly, did McConnell really care whether Merrick or Gorsuch became a Justice? I have no evidence of exactly what it is that he gives a damn about, except that his fat is in the fire now.

Mitch, in this tiny, single remark finally coughs up the first set of words he has ever uttered indicating any respect toward Trump, his accomplishments, or his voters.

*PlateOfShrimp may be onto something. Mitch may very well have recognized the “referendum” he faced on his competency, forcing him to show off his parliamentary skills to hold off Garland Merrick, which Thanks be to God, led to Gorsuch landing on the USSC.

If not for Bannon’s loud and rousing assault on these RINO’s, the rest of these guys would not so much as look up, and Mitch would not be squirming, with finally enough pressure laid on them to have to peep out one little supportive sentence on the subject of Trump.

This is like a school-hating schoolboy praising the truant officer...

Imagine the legislation Mitch and his pals would be passing if Trump wasn’t fighting hard to keep them from doing it.

Trump deserves a lot of credit for what he’s preventing. Defense is important too, though it puts no points on the board.
