Here are three scenarios where Trump wins Minnesota
The Twin Cities Pioneer Press ^ | October 11, 2019 | Dave Orrick

No Republican presidential candidate has won Minnesota since Richard Nixon in 1972.

But Donald Trump came close in 2016, losing to Hillary Clinton by 44,765 votes, a margin of just over 1.5 percent percentage points.

Here are three scenarios — note Minnesota political observers — where Trump can win.

WEAK DEMOCRATIC CANDIDATE

Many Democratic strategists now agree that the biggest problem with Hillary Clinton’s candidacy was Hillary Clinton.

For whatever reason, voters simply didn’t turn out for her. Trump’s 1.32 million votes was almost identical to what 2012 GOP candidate Mitt Romney got. But Clinton’s 1.37 million votes was a far cry from Barack Obama, who received more than 1.5 million votes in both 2008 and 2012.

Under this winning scenario for Trump, the Democratic nominee merely matches or falls short of Clinton’s lackluster Minnesota performance, leaving the door open for Trump to win, perhaps aided by a better-than-2016 performance by the president.

Longtime Democratic operative Jeff Blodgett doesn’t think this will happen because he believes Democrats are so motivated to beat Trump that they’ll be energized behind whoever is nominated. But, he said, it’s definitely possible.

“We could have problems with our candidate,” Blodgett said. “President Trump could change course and win over voters with the economy or something. … The other danger is if the Democratic candidate ignores the state. It’s really important, and I don’t think national Democrats think of Minnesota as a competitive truly purple state, but it is.”

Prediction: In 2020, MN, NM, TX and GA will be treated like purple states by both parties.

I will be thrilled if Trump wins this state. But I don’t expect that happens. Ronald Reagan won 49 states for his re election. That one state he lost was Minnesota

Reagan lost Minnesota because Mondale was the nominee. Mondale is/was very popular in his home state.

‘change course’? and win over voters with the economy?

Serious discussions of President Trump winning Minnesota should make people think of this map. I don't believe President Trump can sweep quite as many states as President Nixon, but the globalist coup plotters may be surprised when they see how many states their antics and overreach have put into play. I pray for a wave election that puts a stake (or for the vegans, a steak) in the hearts of America's leftist enemies.

Yes he did lose that election to Norm Coleman. Mondale was a last minute replacement for Paul Wellstone after Wellstone died right before the election.

Emotions may still.have been running high against the Democrats after that Wellstone memorial that year, and contributed to Coleman winning.

What a load of self-delusional silliness and pablum.

“President Trump could change course and win over voters with the economy or something”

Change course? What in the world? He is keeping all of his campaign promises and, as a result, has created the strongest economy in decades, probably in my lifetime. This yo-yo thinks he needs to “change course”?

“The other danger is if the Democratic candidate ignores the state.”

That is entirely possible based on last night’s rally, coupled with another low-energy candidate.

“it’s possible that Trump supporters will be more energized — or at least, turn out in greater numbers.”

The shampeachment is going to drive Trump’s turnout to record high numbers. When people finally wake up to Coup 2 and the illegitimate plan to oust Trump, they are going to vote against the Dems.

That’s probably because his opponent, former Vice President Walter “Fritz” Mondale was from Minnesota.

And then Coleman lost to Al Franken. He also lost to Jesse Ventura, for governor.

That doesn’t exactly look good on a resume.

An often overlooked fact:

2016 was the first time since 1956 where the percentage vote in MN was to the RIGHT of the national popular vote. Even though Crooked H won MN, it was by a smaller percentage than her national popular vote percentage.

The fact is than MN is gradually moving right, and has been doing so ever since Reagan.

Fail again, Hillary, fail.

Yes, I pray more American voters wake up to the true nature of the Democrat shampeachment — a plot to overthrow or severely damage the executive on completely ginned up and bogus charges. It’s nothing more than a continuation of “Russia, Russia.”

Squarehead Farm Labor democratic socialists... and their “leaders”.

But.... even they “get” where their national party is going.

Hubert Humphrey— Democratic Farm-Labor party founder and former mayor of Minneapolis.... would today be left center republican.... just a thought.

There may be enough fossils of Huberts day- whose kids/family are big time, not DNC/OAC ultra leftie socialists— to get their votes. Trump’s US FIRST policies rings true with this demographic.

Problem for the Dems is their candidate this year is going to be even more wacko Leftist anti gun crazy. Add to that the current Government of MN is run by wack job leftists who are busy destroying it. So lot of anti Democrat anger.

Add to that, Trump was lied about 24/7/365. A good chunk of Republicans sat on their hands in 2016 because they did not like, or trust Trump. Clinton, and here stooges in the Fake Media, did a good job of demonizing Trump.
Now, having seen Trump in office, coupled with the amazing economy, voters are going to have a lot less fear of Trump. Going to be much harder to demonize him again.

So Democrats better not count their chickens too quickly.
