GOP hopes for taking the Senate majority: finding better 2024 candidates and better anti-fraud and ballot harvesting preparation

Let’s start with Montana. Republican Tim Sheehy, a former Navy Seal, has entered the 2024 Montana Senate race.

(source)

I think he has a better shot at beating incumbent Democrat Senator John Tester than Congressman Matt Rosendale, who lost to him in 2018.  That year, 2018, was a very good Dem year, and Tester won by 3.6%.  Montana is more Republican in presidential election years.

Senator Steve Daines from Montana is running the GOP Senate effort for 2024, and he is trying to find candidates who have a good shot at winning general elections and making primary endorsements accordingly.  An insider tells us that they don’t plan on making the same mistake as in 2022 again.

Rick Scott, who ran the Senate election strategy in 2022, was a  failure, refusing to get involved in primaries.  Hence, Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania candidates and their losses.

In other 2024 races, West Virginia should be a pickup, with or without Manchin running.  Montana will be close as all of Tester’s races always have been.

Ohio is a bit uphill:  Sherrod Brown is running with basically the same platform as J. D. Vance did.  He is an old-style Dem populist and will be tough to beat.  Plus, there is no obvious GOP challenger.

Arizona is now a slightly lean-Dem state.  Maybe Ruben Gallegos is too far left, or Sinema is a third-party candidate, creating GOP opportunities there.

Michigan is an open seat, but Elissa Slotkin is a good candidate for Dems.  I don't think we will win Pennsylvania (Robert Casey, Jr. is a good candidate).

Well, they better hurry up. The networks are about to call the 2024 elections any day now!

West Virginia is a prime opportunity to go Republican, as Manchin is up for reelection, and West Virginia has becoming increasingly Republican in recent years.

Arizona can be a good opportunity. Is Kristen Sinema running for reelection as an independent, not a Democrat? If so, there could be splits in the Democrat/liberal leaning voters between Sinema and the Democrat nominee, which should help the Republican candidate.

Are the new Republican candidates adept at wring strongly worded letters?

How about sternly worded letters?

Arizona is now a slightly-lean Democrat state.

Absolute Rubbish! AZ was stolen in broad daylight, and everyone knows it.

"Better Candidates" is RINO code for "No MAGA Candidates."

The message to grassroots voters is if you nominate a MAGA candidate, then the Democrats will be allowed to cheat with no pushback whatsoever from the party establishment. Just ask Kari Lake.

And the republicans can do all of the ballot harvesting they want until the cows come home. As long as cheat-by-mail-in ballots are allowed with the kind of "signature verification" that was exposed by Kari Lake (and which is certainly the same story in other states), we can expect the counting to be stopped on Election Night 2024, and a week later the Democrat will overtake the lead thanks to the cheat-by-mail-ins.

The GOP will eek out majorities in the House and Senate and win the Presidency. They should start telling us what they will do for us with those majorities.

I think Joe Manchin is going to retire.

If we ballot harvest hard enough, we could pick up 7 or 8 Senate seats. We have the best map. The left is alreay calling for abolishing the Senate.

Here’s an idea. Stop nominating Trump endorsed losers like Dr. Oz and Herschel Walker.

Robert Casey, Jr. is a good candidate?

He is an abject moron who has nothing going for him but his name; albeit a moron that looks intelligent compared to the other U.S. Senator who is an imbecile.

Nobody can name any accomplishments other than he dutifully votes the party line for the last 18 years. There is a reason he does not hold unscripted town halls and even the scripted ones are before carefully selected audiences.

If it weren't for Fetterman, he would be as close to a cipher as you can get.

RE: Stop nominating Trump endorsed losers like Dr. Oz and Herschel Walker.

And How would we know in advanced that they'll be losers? Or, do we follow the Jerry Seinfeld advise to George Costanza?

Agreed. Mitch McConnell and his ilk have never described a conservative candidate as one of the “better candidates”. It’s always the moderate. Never a conservative or MAGA candidate.

Lot of work to do in PA. The GOP needs to go on a massive voter registration drive and narrow the dem advantage. Then, they need to go on a massive ballot harvesting initiative to make sure every GOP registered voter is voting by mail or otherwise.

The goal has to be to whittle the dem pre-election day advantage down as far as possible such that a strong Election Day turnout for the GOP can overcome it.

It was plainly obvious to anyone with any common sense that Herschel Walker was a terrible candidate. And as for Dr. Oz, he lost to a guy who’s one step above being brain dead. I think it’s pretty obvious they both sucked. And everybody knew it at the time.
