This is all preparation for the new “digital dollar”, a sort of fiat currency that is subject to the whim of the moment. If you are into precious metals (gold, platinum, silver), the swamp of the economy may not be so severe individually, but only a few will have the means to be holding significant quantities of precious metals or gemstones like uncut diamonds. Sidearms and ammunition might be more effective.
The signs have been hanging out there for months, but either the majority has ignored them, or has been unable to come up with the means to invest is more stable assets. Real estate, in and of itself, is not a particularly good hedge against the coming precipitous drop in economic activity, but it might provide a temporary refuge for a short while.

Companies want to have as few factories as possible to cut their overhead and operating costs.
This requires global free trade.
If some guy like Trump insists on Make America Great Again, many other countries will want to have their own industrial base too.
Big Company might have to set up factories in many different countries or face the prospect of a factory in some Third World country having independent manufacturing capability in its product line.
Big Company (and Wall Street (and Congress)) don’t want all the possible competition MAGA might bring to the world economy.
It is so much more profitable to have Chinese factories do all the manufacturing and US companies having the marketing and pricing power.
As for the article, the Chinese are muscling in at the IMF with their renminbi currency to get them voting power at the IMF.
The re-establishment of the Tower of Babel in the making that won’t end well for the people.

There needs to be a meme contest based on “advertising” by organizations like the WEF and the IMF, trying to ‘sell’ what they advocate, like they were commercial companies.
Products like slavery, mass starvation, depopulation, and turning the organization leaders into a new ‘nobility’, like King Klaus Schwab.
