You’re right, but probably alluding to Kerry’s paternal grandfather Fritz Kohn, a convert to Catholicism who changed his name to Frederick Kerry before leaving Austria for the US. John has claimed to have no knowledge of the Jew in his background until a reporter told him in the early 2000s. Irrelevant, particularly since he was the father in law of the prominent Rosemary Forbes who committed suicide in the bathroom of the Copley Plaza in the early 1920s, making the front page of Boston newspapers. Odd the things politicians families “forget” till exposed. Like the native background of Sen. Warren. And how in some cases it leads to what appears to be anti Israel and borderline antisemitic views.
