Homosexual agenda promoted in the new children’s movie “Good Boy”

Posted on 10/12/2003 6:17:53 PM PDT by mandingo republican

The homosexual agenda is being promoted in the new Jim Henson Productions children’s movie titled “Good Boy”. I took my niece and nephew to see this cute movie about dogs who talk. It’s a kids movie overall but I was shocked to find how the leftist Hollywood establishment tries in very subtle ways to get its cultural agenda across. I don’t know if the kids picked it up, but I suspect that it’s been done before and it will continue to happen in the future. It’s like a veiled form of conditioning – a brainwashing of sorts, designed to alter perceptions of the world and culture around us. It can be seen in television shows – especially in programming for children. Today on the Disney channel one of the shows was on dating – the kids where about 13 or 14. My 7 year old niece was watching it. Gone are the days of Father Knows Best or even the corniness of the Brady Bunch.

In the movie there was a 30 something man who owned a dog which the little boy (the lead character in the movie) walked daily. No big deal right? The only thing wrong with this was that in many later scenes the man was seen living in his home with another man. They were always together exactly like the other married couples in the movie. You would see them cleaning the pool, going to work, or decorating their home. I thought I was seeing things, until I asked my wife if she picked up the same thing. She said yes, and along with my sister she could not understand why this was needed in a children’s movie.

Is nothing scared anymore? Are we that far gone as a culture that even in a movie which we take our children we continuously have to be bombarded by images and messages that homosexuality is a normal and accepted lifestyle? I just thought the showing of this homosexual couple was a very subversive trick to get kids on board with a liberal mindset at a very early age. I want to take the kids to see an innocent movie about dogs who talk – not a movie about how OK homosexual marriage is.

They should have been realistic and had at least one of them dying of aids.

Don't you get it? According to them, gay is 'normal', if they don't have gay characters in a movie it's abnomal.

There is some weight to be given to mandingo's concern about homosexual lifestyle being portrayed in movies that are made to be viewed by children. If this is something that troubles mandingo, then maybe they should spend their money on other films. Yet, your comments do not have the same concerning feel that mandingo's do. Would you be ok with your children viewing films that pose "everyday" relationships that are portrayed as homosexual? I know I would not be comfortable with that.

How is this much different from the 1960s sitcom "Family Affair"? Uncle Bill and Mister French, his butler. Yeah sure, a butler in a Manhattan apartment.

Except that uncle Bill was constantly dating beautiful women and French didn't seem to mind.

I have seen t.v. programs inch their way towards saturation with a pro-homosexual stand.

Even JAG showed Harm coupled with a lesbian pilot on a secret mission for the CIA. Come on America wake up!

Yep. The powers that be are not the "white brother hood" or "black helicopters" manipulating mankind. It's the subliminals on TV, movies and other broadcasts. It's the darkside that few ever notice consciencely, but their subconscience mind soaks it up like a sponge.
Many Christians don't own TV's because the Bible warns of this stuff.
Take illegal immigration, for example. The media ignores it's danger, so mankind ignores it. If the media were to make a big deal out of it, something would be done. The massess would be led.
Look at the war in Iraq. What do you hear and see? Darkness.
The press will not report the light. Fear and chaos breeds brain dead viewers. When their brains are constantly bombarded by negitive, fearful messages, they feel they need to keep watching to make sure they are safe or prepared for the worst.
If the press were to start showing things that are good, kind, and of good report, the world would be a happy, friendly, unified planet.
Without misery, there is no power to control the minds of the sheeple.

I saw Good Boy today. It had no dachshund or chihuahua characters, so I give it 1 dogtreat out of four.

As for the two men who live in the same house...At age 38, I saw them as a gay couple./ But if I were 8, I probably would think they're brothers sharing a home . Whether today's 8 year olds are so naive, I cannot say.

Uncle Charley, on My 3 Sons...gay, big time, sure, he loved to cook and wear an apron...plus he was a sailor, lots of ports and such, never got married. And how was he an Uncle anyway? Oh, and Alice from the Brady bunch, Mel Cooley from Dick Van Dyke Show, and Colonel Healey from I Dream of Jeannie (and Reuben Kincaid from Partridge Family!)

It kills me what kind of hysteria some people whip themselves up to, its a freaking crappy kids flick.

Go see Kill Bill, Uma rocks!

I wonder if you might learn a lesson from your kids here: just sit back and enjoy a movie about a talking dog, for Christ's sake!

Really?

The left is fully aware of the power of this medium over children, witness their campaign against Joe Camel.

Why do you think we have a runaway best selling Christmas toy every year? Do you think the power of television might have more influence on our kids than merely determining which breakfast cereal they eat? Speaking of "Christ's sake," when is the last time you saw a Protestant cleric treated sympathetically or even with a modicum of dignity on the screen?

Take a look a another Disney product, a seemingly innocent feature length cartoon, Pocahontas. While you are "sitting back enjoying" this movie about John Smith and Pocohantas, my kids are learning that their ancestors were brutes who murdered Indians indescriminately and believed in a superstition, Christianity, that was less to be valued than the savages enlightened worship of trees and rocks.

Disney is one of the worst war criminals in the culture war being waged against me and mine. We are right to take alarm over these matters because they affect all our affairs. Even our hunting laws are shaped by the public's notion that deer are really just real life Bambis.

Disney seems to have got you exactly where they want you, smugly clueless.

Tell me, did the movie show them having sex together? Kissing? Taking baths together?
What overt signs of homosexuality were displayed in this movie?

Two men living together in a child's movie sends no messages about "acceptance" of the "gay lifestyle"? Uh-hunh. OK. Yeah. No problem.

Thanks. Now I won't necessarily interpret two men kissing, having sex, or taking baths together as "overt signs of homosexuality," much less some sort of effort to advance a "gay agenda." And neither will any children watching, will they?

Never watched that show when I was a kid...But I think the idea that they're a gay couple stems from Matt Groening's use of two fez-wearing Charlie Brown parodies to represent a gay couple in one of his cartoon strips. People talked about that, and the identity of the childhood icon being parodied got confused somewhere along the way. Just my theory.

I watched that episode. If all lesbians looked like Mary Page Keller, my opinion of lesbians would mirror Howard Stern's. LOL

Wasn't she in a movie with John Ritter and Hal Linden ? (Something about a secure, gated community !!??)

Anyway, I've always enjoyed to watch her act !!

If the "conservative media" only covered left-wing hypocrisy with as much effort as they covered right-wing hypocrisy, the ACLU might be defunct by now.

It's not even a Disney movie, it's being distributed by MGM.

Jim Henson productions.
