Lift Shadow From Illegal Immigrants

Lift Shadow From Illegal Immigrants

Observers on the right and left agree the migration status quo isn't working.

By Tamar Jacoby, Tamar Jacoby is a senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute.

Suddenly the issue of illegal immigration is back in the air. Politicians on the left and right, as well as business, labor and grass-roots protesters, are all insisting we cannot live with the status quo.

[Snip]

Bringing undocumented immigrants out of the shadows would not only improve their lives and set them on the road to citizenship, it would restore respect for the law and enhance public order in the places they settle. It is also one of the most effective steps we can take to bolster our security by beginning to distinguish between harmless workers and would-be terrorists.

Bringing undocumented immigrants out of the shadows would not only improve their lives

It will bring in millions more to take our jobs and suck up tax payer paid social programs.
Round them up, and send them home. There's enough encouragement to break our laws already!

At the same time, these liberal weenies are bitching about the economy falling short and the lack of jobs !!
Send the illegals home, and every Democrat could finally get off their fat, lazy butts and join the work force for a change. The illegals are their employment shields.

The only good use for the LA Slimes is as a TP substitute, but that doesn't work so well for the online version

I would not even speak that highly of it.

Bring them out of the shadows?

BS! Bring them off of the Welfare Rolls, take them off Free Medical, Stop educating their children for free (they dont want to learn anyway and it is helping in the dumbing-down of our own). Stop their gangs from destroying our once poor, but decent neighborhoods,

I;;egals need to go back to mexico and start over, I'm sick of law-breakers getting amnsety! This krapola about mex's doing the jobs no one else wants? Hell, no one wants to work around a bunch of people who wont even learn the language of the country they are in - Most of them are really RUDE about it as well...

A 12/1/2002 article by Steve Sailer, United Press International, offers some interesting facts. To wit, "Since there are 27 white voters for every Mexican-American voter, even an almost imperceptible negative response by whites can outweigh a wave of enthusiasm among Mexican-Americans."

I believe that's true or close enough.

I also remember the days when there were only Americans. Sounds kind of hollow, don't it? I mean, Americans?! What kind of Americans, today's youth may ask.

I also know a little about the history of the contribution of Americans of Latino origin. For example, I believe they are the largest group of Medal of Honor winners.

It seems to me that air head Republicans insult not only America but also Americans of Hispanic / Latino origin when they fret that their candidates might come across as too pro-America and offend the hyphenated crowd. Screw the hyphenated crowd. We're Americans all. They are not.

27 to 1, eh? Screw the Republicans and worse the Democrats.

The way it was, Ike Eisenhower’s "Operation Wetback"

Here's a bit history in an anonymous letter to an on-line (not friendly to neo-cons) publication,

From: [Name Withheld]

National Review neocon John J. Miller writes (“Illegal Amnesty? Bush’s Decision Poses Problems, But Also Promise,” Investor’s Business Daily, July 26, 2001): “Short of a Gestapo-like deportation effort, the millions of illegal aliens living in this country are here to stay.”

I guess that Miller must consider President Eisenhower to have been a Nazi. In 1954, when the country first faced massive illegal immigration from Mexico, Ike’s "Operation Wetback" successfully rounded up and deported huge numbers of illegal aliens and brought the border under control. See Alien Nation, by Peter Brimelow, page 34, Chart 3.

At the time, the neocons were still Communists and consequently unable to dictate the policies of a Republican administration, and William F. Buckley’s magazine, as they do today. [end]

Yet, Republicans carried the vote of Americans of Hispanic origin until Catholic John Kennedy. I kinda believe they identify more with America than Mexico. I don't know about that last paragraph. Can Trotskyites be called Communists?

Why do we keep hearing this tripe? Can anybody tell me how giving amnesty to 8 million illegals wll protect me from terrorists? They're already here, and an amnesty isn't going to stop the stream of illegals coming through my little town. If anything, it'll increase the torrent.

In the shadows? They're not in any freakin' shadows. They used to be, maybe back in the 70s and early 80s.

Now they're flaunting themselves all over the place, getting in knife fights at bars on the weekends, cramming 20 of them into a two bedroom home and blasting their music with the accordians and silly little horns from their cars at all hours of the night.

I wish they would go back into the shadows.

LA Times are the ultimate lib-whores of journalism.

Talking about coming out of the shadows....This is about the time of year when many illegals actually try to get caught by the BP in order to get a free ride home to mexixo for the holidays.
