Clinton's Fall Guy May Turn the Table - Peter Paul et al
Insight Magazine ^ | 10/16/03 | Paul Rodriguez

Posted on 10/16/2003 11:17:06 AM PDT by Paul Rodriguez

Peter F. Paul, the flamboyant Hollywood entrepreneur who says Hillary Rodham Clinton has hidden almost $2 million of in-kind contributions he made to her campaign in 2000, is back from Brazil and promising to raise a ruckus about the New York senator as he fights bizarre securities and bank-fraud charges on which he's been indicted.

Aaron Tonken, a political operative in Hollywood and a former protégé of Paul under indictment for a variety of alleged sharp deals with the rich and famous, also is promising to tell everything he knows about behind-the-scenes shenanigans of Clinton and many others.

Meanwhile, the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the IRS have embarked on extensive civil and criminal probes involving a cast of Damon Runyon characters and securities, tax and bank frauds that appear to center on a now-bankrupt company called Stan Lee Media Inc. (SLM).

That company is in turn at the epicenter of charges brought against Stephen and Jonathan Gordon, Paul and at least two stockbrokers/advisers and alleged mob figures who helped to perpetrate government-alleged frauds that were used to finance political fund raising for Hillary and Bill Clinton.

Professionals at the Justice Department in Washington, along with prosecutors in the Eastern District of New York and the Western District of California (Los Angeles), also are pursuing ongoing investigations stemming from their probes of Paul, the Gordons and others.

At least that's what government officials tell Insight when asked about the status of this battery of criminal cases triggered by the Paul et al. indictments issued almost three years ago.

First a recap: Paul and the Gordons were alleged in the indictments to have bilked SLM, Merrill Lynch, U.S. Bank and others out of millions of dollars by floating checks on margin accounts holding SLM stocks for various personal perfidies, with which he says he financed the Clinton fund raising. According to prosecutors, as much as $25 million was stolen or otherwise looted.

Hope Mr. Paul remembers to check under the hood every morning and don't answer the door for any Candygrams.

After endless "lame" investigations into the Klintoons campaign contributions (al beit a corrupt Janet Reno JD), I just don't see how this is going to change anything. Paul, Gordon, et al will be so slimed by the remaining Klinton machine and the media, nobody will believe they have any credibility. But hey! I'd love to be totally wrong here.

He should also give a copy of whatever documents he has to back up his account, under seal, to several close friends, with instructions to deliver the docments to the Feds and several well-known conservative notables in the event he should suddenly die or disappear for any reason.

Great investigative work, Paul. You and Sperry are tops, in my book. From your article:

"For example, copies of faxes identified as coming from David Rosen, the national finance director for Hillary Clinton's political organization, do indeed instruct the delivery of $100,000 worth of SLM stock to the Working Families Party in New York state. This was a political-action group that threw support to Clinton's 2000 bid for the U.S. Senate."

This is so similar to the NY standard MO, i.e. big donations to action groups for the express benefit of a particular candidate. Godspeed with your work....

I want to see Hillary lead off the Senate floor wearing HANDCUFFS!

If there was any justice in this world, that would have been done a LONG time ago. I live in New York, and I can`t tell you how lovely it is to have this bonafide sociopath as Senator..Seeing her constantly in the news about her book tour in some other state or seeing her on Jay Leno or the Jon Stewart show or the 10 billion other shows, yet never seeing or reading about her anywhere near New York unless it`s for her to march in a parade for a photo op like she did in the Columbus day parade on monday. Every parade she marches in, yet not one funeral did she attend for the firemen or cops who died on 911. But what do you expect from a psychotic like her who supports terrorists, who put the lives of New Yorkers in danger by getting her husband to pardon FALN terrorists who bombed NYC 130 times just so she could buy votes from a few misguided individuals in her Senate run.

I've been waiting to see that day for a few years now. They will both get what's coming to them sooner or later. Hopefully this story will get somewhere.

Historically, those prosecuted in cases of improper campaign contributions are donors rather than recepients. Politicians simply return questionable funds. I hope this is not the case this time. Somebody needs to nail Hillary (disgusting visual pun not intended).
