Tyrants love folks who think like you. It makes their jobs so much easier if we slip the shackles on ourselves.
I've seen functional narcotics addicts and non-functional prescription drug addicts. Do I deny any distinction? No. The functional narcotics junkies outnumbered the non-functional prescription junkies by a zillion to one. But they're still all junkies.
I used to be a drug warrior, but the bankruptcy of the "arguments" of the generals convinced me that there's no "there" there, and so went AWOL from the drug wars a year or two ago. (E.g., the arguments for protecting children are irrelevant to the selling and purchasing of narcotics by adults. Following the same logic, we'd have to criminalize all alcohol and tobacco trafficking. And prior to the War on Terror, the WOD was the greatest device ever invented, with which to eviscerate the Constitution.)
I'm going to lay down my drug war shield,
Down by the courthouse steps,
Down by the courthouse steps,
Down by the courthouse steps.
I'm going to lay down my no-knock bust,
Down by the courthouse steps,
Down by the courthouse steps,
Down by the courthouse steps.
I don't want to fight drug wars no more,
Don't want to fight drug wars no more,
Don't want to fight drug wars no more,
No more....
