SNIPER: Brighton, Tennessee Breaking......

There are reportedly 2 snipers in the vicinity of BCI on Hwy 51 in Brighton, Tennessee. Two teachers from the local high school reported that their cars had been hit by gunfire. No injuries are reported at this time.
I live about 1/2 mile from where this is happening. It appears that the two gunmen have been captured, but there is no confirmation of that at this time. Police helicopters have left the scene, and local law enforcement has eased trafic restrictions along Highway 51. I will update as I get more information.

Brighton is a town of about 1700 people located 30 miles North of Memphis in Tipton County. Suspects are thought to be high school students.

Police are searching Thursday night for someone who opened fire on cars on Highway 51 in Brighton, in Tipton County.
Authorities tell News Channel 3's Tom Powell on the scene, that 5-6 cars were hit by gunfire, by no one was injured.
It all happened near Brighton High School, which was in lockdown while police searched the area. Highway 51 was also shut down in both directions for several hours late afternoon/early evening.
Authorities are looking into reports that a group of boys were seen near the Highway around the time of the shootings, wearing hunting clothes. Police can't say the boys are responsible, but would like to talk with them. If you have any information about this shooting or know of some people who may have been hunting near the school Thursday afternoon, police would like you to contact them at 475-4300.

Between the sniper trial and the release of the Columbine video tape I would bet on a copy cat. He/she/they need to be taken out ASAP! This just gives fuel to the gun grabbers.

Sorry, BCI is a factory in Brighton. I think they recondition some kind of pressurized containers. Just a landmark that the locals would recognize.
One local station reporting 2 cars hit, another reporting 3. No injuries reported, and no ambulances racing off, so I guess no one was hurt.
We have 14 Local and State law enforcement vehicles stationed about 1/4 mile from me. The highway hasn't been closed off, but police are everywhere along the road.

Shots fired at cars on highway, Four vehicles hit
Police search for Tipton Highway Shooter
Authorities in Tipton County are looking for "three school age males" for firing shots at cars along Highway 51 near Brighton, Tennessee. Authorities say at least four vehicles were hit. No one was injured.
The shooting happened just after 5 p.m. Thursday at Highway 51 and Jack Bennett Road. That's between Brighton and Covington.
The Tipton County Sheriff says investigators are looking for three males dressed in hunting clothes. One is carrying a rifle. Authorities say the trio is possibly hiding in a wooded area near the shooting scene.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol closed the highway in both directions for over an hour immediately after the incident as authorities combed the area for the gunmen. Traffic backed up for miles as the highway patrol diverted motorists to nearby routes. A police helicopter assisted law enforcement officers on the ground in the search.

My neighbor just talked to the mayor. The suspects have not been caught, and are thought to be hiding in or around the large drainage culverts that run under the highway.
Folks, they are looking in and around my back yard! One of these large culverts runs right behind my house. We're locked and loaded - dogs outside, and they'll lick anyone coming into the yard without mercy! So much for watchdogs....
