It is even more brutal today,at the elementary level, than it was in my day.
I know this for a fact, and heaven help anyone who goes into a high school... You know, last night I was wondering why Keebold and Harris did this. Do you think they just got tired of the BS from creepy, horrible students with "diverse" behavior in their school? (Many of our schools are living nightmares.) Or were they just insane - mean- ?

Our high school age studemts have never lived in an age that respected life...they just know abortion as a solution to solving an immediate problem.

Most of us have lived with the knowledge that we were not "wanted" or "planned" children. But, we are here, nonetheless. And how many of us are wanted and loved now? I tire of NOW's gang of only a wanted and planned child should be allowed to live.

So, why should we expect any more of our children who kill children? Is it not we who are to blame, who taught them that life is worthless, if it is inconvenient and repulsive to their wishes.

Mother Theresa was correct.

dogs outside, and they'll lick anyone coming into the yard without mercy!

LOL. I can relate to that! And living in the area of the D.C. sniper's "play" ground, I know how you feel. I swear one evening during that adventure I heard rifle shot. Later, after those scum were captured, the police stated that the snipers recorded their hits and misses on their computer. To date, the police have never released where they missed were.

If I were you I'd go inside, tuck everyone in (including those furry beings who deem death by slobber) and plan to stay up all night in the dark, L&L, in your rocking chair that has clear sight to the front door.

Stay safe and prayers for you and yours.

I agree with your point on self preservation. One of the greatest attributes I admired about Americans was our "If it needs to be done I can do it attitude." A bridge down? I can rebuild it. Need a house (like Zell Miller's mom did in the 30s) she gathered river rock and started building. But all we have now are rules, regulations, and constraints. Cut down some weeds growing up around a stop sign? Heck no, it's the city's job and perhaps you'll get sued. Lawyers/officials have got our country bound into frightened inaction in almost every sphere of life - what we do, say, and even how we think...

You are correct about the general growing disrespect... not just about life, but for our culture, country, history, religion, parents, etc.

"This just gives fuel to the gun grabbers."

Wouldn't surprise me if the video was released just for that purpose.

Thanks to everyone for your concern. I think they've pretty well called off the search for the night. Police posted on my street are gone - those monitoring the highway have either left or turned off their lights.

We're staying home (from school) until we know these guys have been caught. I'll check in from time to time, and post further news if there is any tonight.

Two teachers from the local high school reported that their cars had been hit by gunfire. No injuries are reported at this time.

Social studies teachers, perhaps?

(Sorry. Cheap shot at a deadly serious subject).

There was a hostage situation and fatal shooting by police some 40 miles north of there at Dyersburg State Community College about six weeks ago.

Has our population gone mad?

There is a lot of madness. Children grow up without a grasp on reality -- they are taught that their actions have no consequences and that they are entitled to everything they want without first having to earn it. Add to the entitlement mentality a popular culture that glorifies cruelty and violence, and you get a lot of immature, irrational people about to go off the deep end.

My neighbor just talked to the mayor. The suspects have not been caught, and are thought to be hiding in or around the large drainage culverts that run under the highway.

Oh, let's hope so!

Then there is the unexpected:

Clostridium difficile + Candida albicans = Psychosis

The result of bacteria overgrowth from broad spectrum antibiotics without probiotic administration.

Cars hit by shots on U.S. 51, drivers say; no one hurt

By Bill Dries

October 24, 2003

Four cars driving along U.S. 51 in Brighton Thursday afternoon were hit by gunfire, according to their drivers.

No one was injured in any of the incidents, which began about 4:30 p.m.

A Tipton County Sheriff's Department dispatcher said late Thursday that the department would not confirm or deny whether any suspects were in custody.

A press conference was scheduled for this afternoon at the Circuit Court Clerk's office in Covington, the dispatcher said.

Tipton County Sheriff Buddy Lewis told reporters earlier that several witnesses had seen three high school-age boys walking along the highway around the time of the shootings. The witnesses told authorities the boys were wearing "hunting type dress . . . with what appeared to be some type of a rifle, shotgun or something of that nature," Lewis said.

A half-hour after the first reported shooting, another motorist told Brighton police his car had been hit by gunfire along the same stretch of road, and that was followed by two more reports, Lewis said.

The area included Brighton High School, where students and parents had gathered Thursday evening for a career day program.

At a command post north of the school, investigators could be seen examining dents and holes in two vehicles before authorities ordered reporters to leave.

Lewis described damage to the four vehicles as "minor."

"One of the bullets that struck one of the vehicles appears to be a small caliber such as a .22 in line with what could have been school age kids out hunting, walking along the roadway, in the fields, shooting their guns," he said.

Lewis emphasized that investigators had reached no conclusion late Thursday on whether that was the case.

Using specially trained dogs, Brighton police, Tipton County sheriff's deputies and the Tennessee Highway Patrol searched the wooded area near where the cars were hit for several hours.

Authorities briefly shut down traffic on the highway in both directions.

With the son of an FBI agent as one of their fellow *trenchcoat mafia* circle members. And despite his own kid's involvement in the case, the FBI kept the kid's agent father on the case to avoid even the appearance that a FBI fix was in.

Sorta makes you wonder if all the ammunition Kleybold and Harris got came from the local mart-mart, doesn't it? They sure had plenty to burn up in practice. -archy-/-
