Weasel Clark explains (yet again) why he flip-flopped repeatedly on the Congressional Iraq war resolution: "Because I wasn't following the resolution and I didn't even know what was in the resolution," said Clark. "My message is that I am not a political consultant, period."
Clark added: "Had I been in Congress I would not have voted for it because I would have recognized that the administration was going to use it as an authorization to go to war."
So, to recapitulate: Clark says he didn't know what was in the resolution because he wasn't paying close attention. But had he been in Congress, he would have been aware of the details, and, having known them, his preference for patient internationalism, plus his suspicion of the administration's motives, would have led him to oppose the resolution.
Plausible? Perhaps. And yet, it's an explanation that stops somewhat short of inspiring confidence in the foreign-policy expertise of the Democrats' newest presidential candidate. Bottom line: Clark's defense is that he knows less about foreign policy than you and me! He didn't realize that "the administration was going to use it [the resolution] as an authorization to go to war."
Clark Under the Weather
Weasel Clark's campaign is being run so badly that the candidate - a soldier, no less - has been physically worn out: Gen. Wesley K. Clark, who is trying to get his five-week-old presidential campaign off the ground, has instead run himself into the ground.
Too much talking, too much flying in planes with bad air and too little sleep combined a while back to leave the 58-year-old retired general with a bad cold, a viral infection and laryngitis, knocking him off the campaign trail for nearly a week and making a hash of his schedule.
And though he re-emerged on Tuesday in New Hampshire, roaming along Main Street in Nashua, he was more in mime than in campaign mode. The onetime commander of allied forces in Europe has been reduced to whispering, no longer campaigning but instead "listening."

Rush's stand-in just said "Goodbye Clark, (he's at 6% in Zogby poll, compared to 41% for Dean), that he'll be a float in the Macy's day parade!

Don't know if you saw the latest Zogby N.H. poll, but Dean's at 40%, Kerry's at 17%, and Clark is at 6%!!!
To: NYC Republican
To be clear, that poll was for NH only.

Generic polls for primaries mean little.
If one doesn't get off to a strong start in the little states, then it's very difficult to win the big ones.

The dirty little secret about the most recent polls is that the UNDECIDED have the highest numbers.

The dirty little secret about the most recent polls is that the UNDECIDED have the highest numbersIt just goes to show the weakness of the current field of candidates- although I'm still baffled by Dean's 77/11 Approval/Unapproval rating...
