US ends efforts to halt Israel's security wall (We Won - State Dept Loses!)

Works for me (conservative Christian fly-over country guy)

As for the State Dept., I heard an interview with a fellow who has written a book
titled "Dangerous Diplomacy".

He says that when George Schultz (who served in the US Marine Corps!) headed the State Dept.,
he'd have new staff (Ambassadors, etc.) come to visit him in his office.
Schultz would take them to a large globe and request the new State Dept. employee
to "point out your country".

Almost invariably, the new hire would point out the country they were posted to, e.g.,
Nigeria, China, etc.

Schultz would then calmly say, "No, point out YOUR country."

I hope Colin Powell and lots of succeeding Sec. of State would follow this example.

Nope, Powell is a complete Socialist RINO.

You know what - I trust the Chinese more than I do France because at least the Chinese didn't screw us over at the UN for six months over Iraq.

The Chinese mainly focus on Politics in Asia, and that's about it.

Israel's security should be the primary consideration in this matter.

Like I said..."I hope..."
Not that it's a realistic hope...

How many did they get, as you claim?

And how many billions in grants?
You must have mistyped since billions of $$$$ went to PINO Arafat
including his Paris and Swiss accounts.

But diplomats warn that the change in US policy is breaking apart the "quartet" - the US, European Union, Russia and the United Nations - that launched the road map.

Screw 'em all - especially the "diplomats".

"Why sell to them when they've been getting them for free in additions to the billions of grants of american taxpayers money?"

I say we recover the $400 million of US taxpayer dollars from Yassir in his Swiss bank account first before we worry about Israel.

This is the consequence for the Palestinians blowing up that US convoy in Gaza (the "evil" one that was interviewing Palestinian students for Fulbright scholarships). Everytime the Palestinians do something stupid, Bush takes another step towards letting Sharon run amok. He's letting them hang themselves.

Wow, I don't remember the free B-52's in the IDAAF. Where they've been hiding them?

Actually, they don't need long-range bombers to deal with people across the street. Field artillery will do the same job at much less cost. Just ask Assaad in Syria about how it worked for his dad in Hama.

Nazareth is in Israel-proper, not Judea and Samaria. I visited there a couple of years ago when I was in Israel on business. No fuss, no bother.

This has probably been requested before, but can anyone provide a link to an up-to-date and accurate map of the Fence, which shows the West Bank Fence's relationship to the 1967 border and the location of Israeli settlements and major West Bank towns? It is obvious to me that the old 1967 border was largely indefensible, and it would be constitute national suicide to strictly adhere to it as a national border between Israel and the Palestinian state, at least as long as Palestinians are ruled by the Terrorist Arafat Regime. I want to see exactly what Sharon considers defensible borders for Israel proper. Thanks.

I support Israel 100% on this wall. If they run short of funding, I'll start the donations. I'm not Jewish and have never been to the mid-East but I can clearly see and empathize with a group burdened with extreme, extreme, unfairness, violence and discrimination.

"The wall will serve as a death blow to any tourism.."

I don't agree with your assessment here. I believe (a) many, many people went every year to see the wall in Germany prior to its destruction, and (b) more people will be inclined to go to Israel once they perceive it to be relatively safe.

"Israel must listen to the rest of the world or it will risk being isolated with no friends."

And that would be different from now in what way?
