What else can one expect from "NO PRICIPLED RADIO"?
They are trash radio and they are the ones that need to be unpluged from life.

Nothing unexpected here.
I hope those doctors with a differing expert opinion, who were mentioned on some other thread, continue to speak out.
It would be nice if some PR firm offered to help the Schindlers. Wishful thinking, perhaps.

I gag when NPR commentators glibly talk about upholding Terri Schiavo's "right to die" as if she herself had exercised that right--e.g. by writing a living will--as opposed to having her husband exercise that "right" for her when she's unable to contradict him. It's not just NPR. I notice ABC radio news has taken to refer to it as "the right to die case of a Florida woman". It's been bugging me for days.

"Susie from Dubuque,"Nuland was practically sneering when he referred to this prototype of America (in his eyes). Hey! I am 'Susie from Dubuque" and I don't need some pothead, Lefty, pseudo-intellectual giving me lessons in ethics!

I heard this piece. Bias doesn't even begin.
And it is all done so blithely.

"Notice to All Potential Mickey Kaus "Surrogates"-- If I'm ever in Terri Schiavo's situation, and not in any pain, please follow these simple steps: Keep the feeding tube in, and keep Dr. Nuland out."
HA, it's a funny thing, Ron Kuby, on Curtis & Kuby said essentially the same thing. He said (I paraphrase): Assume I am a happy vegetable, keep me warm, keep me dry, give me medication, I won't mind the buzz. Don't kill me.
Ron Kuby, I almost fell out of the car.

I hear the hosts of NPR grousing about the high numbers of listeners who do not contribute during their seemingly constant fundraisers. I wonder how many are like myself, who don't want to send another dime in face of such leftwing bias? Sure I'd contribute if they at least tried to present a fair version of events.
Can anyone name a conservative voice on NPR? How do they screen candidates so perfectly as to eliminate any conservative views?

"That's three experts on the husband's side, zero experts (or non-experts) on the parents' side, by my count" Gee, looks like the deck was stacked about like it was in the courtroom.

"as opposed to having her husband exercise that "right" for her when she's unable to contradict him" Yeah, especially when there is substantial evidence that might indicate that he has been trying to "help her die" since that night when she mysteriously "collapsed."

Listening to NPR is an entertaining exercise in oppo research.
Its one of many "culture checks" we make part of our life in our family.

Though I'm not fond of Slate, Kaus is usually good, and he's excellent here. Thanks for posting.

NPR may be the snore center on the radio waves but they really know how to get the big bucks from gullible American people who are duped into thinking that NPR is a low salaried bunch that turn away corporate sponsors.
Their salaries range in the hundreds of thousands - Nina and Daniel and Robert and The Connection guys - all of them make huge salaties. As for the local affiliates - if anyone knows how to get at their salaries please answer me privately. I have been unable to find out so far.

tis why NPR cannot make a living without my tax dollars to make the network viable.
None of the reporters, writers are broadcasters are any good at their craft or they'd be in the competitive private arenas.
