>> Being a bit of a fan of the comic strip "B.C." I captioned the photo with the lightning bolt sound that Johnny Hart used in his strip- ZOT! That is where the term Zot originated.

"B.C." was great!

Back when, I figured Johnny Hart was worth about four Soviet divisions.

That's Jim's baby. You'll have to ask him.

You didn't get the memo?

The moderator poll is to see how long it takes the toddler to notice the news of his account restoration and forget his new found antifreeper principles by logging in and making his fist post. Part two of the contest is to see which of the Texas Chainsaw moderators is the quickest on the draw. Can the Toddster be taken out by a driveby shooting after making only one post?

Oh, that's true. Zot predated FR. But, the Zot which inspired Zot predated your strip here- Johnny Hart's B.C. circa 1978 or so.

BUT- yours is so fitting. Absolutely perfect. Thanks!

According to the back of my Underdog DVD:

ZOT
One of the all-time favorite episodes from the series! Underdog has a secret admirer watching him, trouble is she's on another planet!

Excellent find, that is the one and I would say that is the oldest one I know of. Anybody think of an earlier verifyable one?

Was this finger pointing prior to the TV show "My Favorite Martian"?

No, I'm not from Indiana, but your question suggests that you know another AD&D player who selected the name zot. He or she might have liked my invention of "zot's ring" which shot lightning bolts but could only be used by someone of good alignment. If a neutral character tried to use it, it wouldn't work. If an evil character tried to use it, it backfired.

No, a chess player whose nickname was Zot. This was nearly 30 years ago, so computers were not a factor. I have no idea if D&D had been introduced by then.

In any case, the "match" of this guy with what you said of yourself seemed almost spooky, so I couldn't resist asking :-) Thanks for your reply.

ZOT! Sound of a lightening bolt in the BC comic by Johnny Hart. Also the sound made by the anteater as the anteater's tongue hit an ant, again BC comics. BC predated the Wizard of Id. Gronk! was the sound made by the dinosaurs.
