Simi Fire making a run south out of Browns Canyon and is burning at Topanga Cyn Blvd at 118 freeway

Just brush right there, but another group of houses to the East. I looked at buying one of those before I bought this one... I am very glad not to be there right now.

yeah..I forget about embers...what is the wind speed down your way. Very quiet here. Maybe I will make a run for it to Bryant and do another recon.

"It's the yearly "feel sorry for Californians" spectacle. They have either an earthquake or flood or fire or landslide at least once a year it seems."

As if people who live in the paths of hurricanes and tornadoes fare any better.

Thats really quite a comment, Mr. Fan.

all these folks have been posting the haps for days now, and it's pretty awful out here. We feel strongly about it. Add that the spectre of the disaster is pretty much being ignored by national news.. we've been trying to get the word out to people that want it. It's not about wanting anyone to feel sorry for Californians.

The next 24 hours is basically the heart of the battle for the Simi fire. 15 degree cool off on wednesday, and some moisture in the air. Damn, I hope we get more out of state equipment in, and we just pummel the 118 until it is filled with standing water 50 feet on both sides.

We had the Mississippi flood there a couple of times the last decade and the rest of the nation raised hell for houses being built so close the river and rightly so. I think the bailouts were in the billions of dollars if I remember right. Let's hope this fire spurs some common sense into those that block forst management. But this is the umpteenth fire in the last few years and the liberals haven't learned anything so we'll watch the same thing next year somewhere.

My wife is at work, 3 miles from where the fire jumped to Granada Hills. I have close friends in Hemet that were packed and ready to move out. I have elderly relatives in San Diego who have been evacuated. I am sitting smack dab between the SB fires, and the Simi Fire, and my lungs, car, eyes are covered with soot.

This is not time to debate your California hatred in this thread. Take it somewhere else. Create a vanity about it. Otherwise, be gone. This thread is being used by Californians and their loved ones, to get vital news about where evacuations, and hotspots are going on. My last word to you. Good day to you sir.

This afternoon I called the Forestry Dept for information about the fire in Crestline. Our our house is at 890 Nesthorn Dr. They said that they can not give out any information today it will be given out tomorrow. This has been such a longggggggggggg week end.

Note that Jim himself replied to you. He lives in Cali. Don't insult us Calis and ex-Calis.

You can try to justify your earlier statement by saying that "they shouldn't build expensive homes there" and "they have these wacko enviro policies" but in all due respect you know NOTHING about SoCal.

There is very little "representation of the people" in Cali.

I see you're in Illinois. You ought to know about crooked politics.

Why do they build homes in your state that are in the path of tornadoes and river flooding?

Because that's where they want to live. Heaven forbid that any government, fed, state, or local, CONTROL where people can live.

Damn. My receptionist lives there. She was told this morning to expect the worst. She got her wedding dress and wedding photos and the clothes on her back. Say a prayer for Jen, please.
