One general's jihad

AT A TIME when one violent attack after another points up the failure of US military intelligence in Iraq to gather information about the shadowy forces mounting the assaults, the Defense Department should at least make sure that its top intelligence officer can work well with officials from Iraq and neighboring countries. But the deputy undersecretary for intelligence is Lieutenant General William Boykin, who has made a practice of slandering the Islamic faith.

I believe there were at least two more airplanes," he has said, "that were headed for major installations in this country. I believe that there was one headed for the White House, and there was one headed for the Capitol, but they were thwarted by the hand of God."

I had not heard that one before. If correct, this general is an even bigger nutcase than I thought.

Indeed, it's not unlikely there may have been more teams of hijackers that did not get a chance to act because of the FAA order. I wonder if the FBI has looked at all flight manifests on that day to try to deduce the existence of more teams - certainly the airlines would have had those records? It could give them a picture of al Qaeda teams in the US now.

After the various excuses and explanations that have evolved since 9/11, I doubt if Boyken can be dismissed as a fruitcake. It seems to me that he may be onto something that the rest of us are not. I am very suspect of the peaceful and loving nature of the Muslim faith after reading the Koran. It seems to me that calling a spade a spade is to be contrary to our politically correct philosophy at the present time. If you can't express your feelings without an investigation, what happened to our First Amendment?

Oh, that's just silly. As if the Muslims need some provocation beyond the fact that they are already committed to the destruction of western civilation.

It would be better for all of us if we could do something to deprive the anti-American propagandists at the Boston Globe of food for their agit-prop machine.

Hiding behind the facade of being concerned for the feelings of the "Muslim world" is pretty phony, IMHO. The editors at the GLOB should just fess up to the fact that they absolutely hate Republicans in general, and President Bush in particular, period. The rest of us can see that.
