She also wrote that Cheney is
"manipulative" & W can't handle
the Presidency. When she's good
she's very good, but when she's
bad she's horrid!.

She does indeed! I stand corrected.

An amazingly dense statement from someone who otherwise appears to be able to think clearly. Disappointing.

Plus she couldn't be more wrong about Iraq. She's even still quoting the media-made myth about Iraq's national museum being looted.

Yes I'm a big fan of Paglia too, but come on, who would we rather trust with foreign policy: Rumsfeld or Paglia? You know it's actually a joke when writers on culture, who among other things think that Madonna is a great musician instead of an overpublicized hack (which is what she really is), try to analyze foreign policy. Her attack of Rumsfeld and Gingrich reveals that although she dislikes the male-hating radical fems, she herself still has trouble with strong men like Rumsfeld. Anyone who votes for Nader should be automatically disqualified from talking about national defense.

, but then her utter lack of perspective jumps up and smack you in the face..

You noticed that too I see. Between very lucid and hilarious comments on certain people or events, Paglia tends to make outrageously ridiculous observations.

Hey, cut her a break She's an academic.

One of the job's perogatives is irresponsibility.

I love Camille Paglia. Her writing is always like a breath of fresh air to me.

And she sure had Hannity pegged with these statements:
Even though he went to college, his world is amazingly simple -- as if he learned the absolute truths of the universe from Catholic catechism. He seems to be blissfully unaware of his automatic and sometimes servile deference to male authority. Of course he's emotionally pro-Bush and pro-war in Iraq: the Bush administration has made no mistakes and never stretched a fact. Anyone who questions Bush is a traitor who is undermining our troops. Liberals hate America. And America is always right, especially when it selflessly brings the joys of freedom to the down-trodden serfs of the world. Hannity seems to have had absolutely no experience of any country or people beyond our borders. For him, America is a blessed, sunny islet in a dark sea of oppression and ignorance.

Wait - was she talking about Hannity, or describing the typical FReeper? Hmmm...

Someone asked who we would trust more with foreign policy - Rumsfeld or Paglia. I would trust Camille more - she's more of an honest, earnest person and though I don't agree with her %100, I can see where she's coming from. I believe her more than Rumsfeld, simple as that. Also, out of the two of them, Paglia is less likely to start WWIII, which is a plus when picking someone to handle foreign policy.

I think Camille Paglia is awesome.
BUMP

By the way, that entire phone interview took less than 2 minutes 45 seconds.

I have always liked her writing. She seem like one of those people that you could agree to disagree with and still be able to have a good conversation with.

I think she likes what the Democratic Party once stood for... voice of the working man.

Maybe she should sit in as a guest host for Limbaugh's Radio Show.

Lord no. Ever hear her speak? I bet she's upwards of 300 wpm. Too fast for untrained ears over the radio. If you
didn't know who she was, you'd turn her off in a second.

As a guest host, I don't think she'd be appreciated or listenable.

Maureen Dowd! I ignore her hypertext like spam for penis extenders.

Camille skewers MO. ROFL.

Thanks for the ping. I always enjoy Camille. She is one of a rare breed. She can tell it like it is (and well) whether she is politically aligned or not.

Her description of Dowd is priceless. LOL !!!!!!!!
