Thanks so much to everyone who has participated in the anti-CBS/pro-Reagan efforts.
There are now 7 or 8 different committees working towards a common goal and it has been breathtaking to see the impact that is already being made.
We were contacted by two of the first four "sponsors" we had chosen to focus on. The two were companies we got from a list here at FR. That list has some errors because the companies swore they would not air an ad during the miniseries and never had any plans to.
Furthermore, the president of one of the companies considers Reagan to be one of his greatest heroes - as the company explained to us - and would never allow his company's ads to fund a hit-piece on Reagan.
Another company told us that we do a damn good job because the corporate executive email addresses we direct people to contact get the companys' attention. They said we had inundated their office with people who participated.
And it doesn't just end with sponsors.
CBS shut down every email address we had listed. That's OK - we still have phone and FAX and next we will focus our sights on Viacom = parent company of CBS.
Finally, as we prepare our national newspaper ad(s) to urge the Boycott of CBS and promote the truth about Reagan (1/2 the ad on the boycott, other 1/2 of the ad on the REAL Reagan Legacy) we will make it clear to sponsors that if they sponsor the miniseries we will put their name in the ad!!
As our chairman, Howard Kaloogian - yes, he of Recall fame - put it:
“President Reagan was one of the greatest presidents our nation has ever seen. Nancy Reagan was one of our greatest first ladies. CBS is proving their liberal bias in this smear campaign that seeks to redefine their accomplishments and decency as human beings.
“It is sickening that on a day when forest fires threaten the Reagan Ranch and library that CBS is proceeding with plans to damage Reagan’s legacy in a way that Mother Nature never could. I am determined to stand shoulder to shoulder with Reagan supporters around the country and fight to keep the record straight on the greatness of Ronald Reagan and his presidency,” concluded Kaloogian.
If you haven't already done so, please go to www.DefendReagan.org and sign the petition that we will present to the sponsors and CBS/Viacom execs (with just your name and city - not personal email address).
But beyond that, join us in helping contact the sponsors directly. Let's put the chill on CBS making money off of their anti-Reagan smear campaign.
And if you can afford to do so, help with a contribution to our newspaper ad campaign. We have to keep this front and center in the public's eye so that even those who do watch the miniseries (if we can't stop it from airing) will know that there is a lot of controversy that CBS lied about who the REAL Ronald Reagan really was.
We mention that because some people were worried that when they sign the petition that this information might be available to CBS/Viacom. We won't do that to you!
