The former Speaker of the House of Representatives visited the San Diego Zoo and attended a fundraiser in Fairbanks Ranch. He later went to California's Central Valley. In Fairbanks Ranch, Gingrich stressed one theme. "Would you rather have $2 a gallon gasoline or $4 a gallon gasoline?" he asked. Martha Kaloogian, who attended Gingrich's event, called him "authoritative [and] presidential."...

In 2008 Barack Obama’s campaign shtick was “change.” That resonated because President Bush was spending too much and the country meant to change Washington. But Obama meant to change the country. In response the Tea Party movement has arisen to implement the real change, putting brakes on that out of control big government growth. Our message to Washington is simple: you have run out of our money, stop excessive spending. You cannot borrow your way out of debt; you cannot spend your way out of deficits. What is President Obama’s response to our message of fiscal responsibility? Shared...

From October 15th to the 29th you can join your fellow Americans at patriotic rallies across America where we will declare in one strong and united voice: OUR COUNTRY DESERVES BETTER THAN BARACK OBAMA! As part of this tour we’ll be highlighting Barack Obama’s lack of executive experience, and we’re inviting you to participate. Here’s how: Bring a copy of your resume to the rallies! That’s right, we’ll be collecting resumes from people at stops all across the nation, so if you have any executive experience -- either as someone who ran or started your own small business, or a...

I’m sending you this letter not to ask for money, but to ask for something even more important: your passion and love for this country. As the Chairman of one of the nation's largest anti-Obama political action committees - http://www.OurCountryDeservesBetter.com - I've heard from so many people about how angry and scared they are. They fear that Barack Obama is about to be elected President, that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid will gain greater strength for their agenda in Congress, and that America will be more vulnerable to threats from foreign foes who wish our nation harm. And all of...

Howard Kaloogian is a lawyer and a former member of the California State Assembly. GITMO AND GUNS are getting all the press. But energy mavens are talking about another recent far-reaching — but little noted — U.S. Supreme Court decision on the California energy crisis: It took them seven years but they finally figured it out. The revisionist part of the story is well known: Big bad oil traders like Enron gamed the market and drove up energy costs fifteen-fold. The blackouts, insolvent utilities and economic chaos are remembered as the worst energy crisis in American history. But the Supreme...

Friends, I wanted to write to you and thank you in the aftermath of the Special Election for the 50th Congressional District. Unfortunately, despite our best efforts, we were unable to claim victory in this past Tuesday’s Special Election. The good news is that we managed to keep the anti-war liberal Democrat, Francine Busby, below 50% - and therefore kept her from winning this seat outright. Spending over a million dollars in the final few weeks, the liberal, anti-war extremists were dealt a stunning blow. There will now be a runoff election in June between the top two finishers....

A school board member running for Congress led in early results Tuesday of a special election to fill the unfinished term of former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham, now in prison for bribery. Democrat Francine Busby moved a step closer to the congressional office she first sought in 2004, when she lost badly to Cunningham. But the self-described soccer mom appeared to fall short of the majority she would need to stage an upset in California's 50th District, where Republicans outnumber Democrats 3-to-2. In absentee voting, Busby had 27,332 votes, or 42 percent, to lead all 18 candidates in the nonpartisan,...

SAN DIEGO - Eighteen candidates in a solidly GOP district on the Southern California coast competed in a special election Tuesday for the congressional seat once held by Randy "Duke" Cunningham, now in prison for bribery. Brian Bilbray, a former congressman-turned-lobbyist who was the choice of the GOP establishment; Republican businessman Eric Roach, who spent $1.8 million of his own money; and Democrat Francine Busby were considered the front-runners. Cunningham represented the House district from 1993 until he resigned in disgrace late last year. In March, the former Vietnam War fighter ace was sentenced to more than eight years in...

Lobbyist Jack Abramoff and former California Rep. Randy “Duke” Cunningham are among the many Republicans whose ethical misconduct have prompted Democratic strategists to conclude that the Republican-run Congress has fostered a “culture of corruption.” But in the run-up to an April 11 special election in California’s 50th District, which Cunningham vacated after pleading guilty to federal corruption charges, it is a Democrat — Francine Busby, an educator and school board trustee — who has had to defend herself against Republican attempts to link her to lobbyists. The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) this week unleashed a television attack on Busby,...

E-mail article April 11 could be do-or-die for Francine Busby. The Democratic congressional candidate appears to have a slim chance to win a majority in next week's special election to replace former Rep. Randy "Duke" Cunningham. But she would be a heavy underdog in a runoff as GOP voters unite around a single candidate. Democrats now are looking to the special election as a potential bellwether. If Busby pulls off an upset next week, it may be a harbinger of a rough political season for congressional Republicans. The race in San Diego's 50th District has been watched closely because of...

This is no different from the amnesty plan of the 1980’s which failed to stop the flow of illegal immigration over our porous national borders,” Howard Kaloogian (website: www.KaloogianForCongress.com) asserted today in opposition to the proposed compromise....
