President Vicente Fox said Monday that Mexico wanted work visas, legalization and family reunification for undocumented migrants, but stopped short of calling for U.S. citizenship for them.

Am I the only one who thinks Fox hasn't got the right to tell the United States what its immigration policy should be?

"That (citizenship) is not something we are asking for," Fox said. Asked when he thought immigration reform could be realized, Fox said "I don't think we should build expectations beyond reality. We've just come through months in which there wasn't any progress at all.

Just possibly --- I'm not sure, Bush knows how to barter with a Mexican. Earlier on, Fox was demanding "the whole enchildada", "dual citizenship" with voting rights in both countries and total access to everything in the USA, but he's actually talking about "reality" a little? It's looking a little like when you go to a Mexican market --- the best way to haggle with them is to say very little --- and they'll start dropping the price, the less you say, the faster the price goes down.

Vicente Fox talks about reforming American immigration while his own country is a hopeless, hell-hole the Mexican people are attempting to escape.

The growing departure of your people is because you rich ruling Mexican elites can't find your asses with both hands to run a country blessed with serious natural resources such as oil!

Illegal mexican aliens are a vital source of hard currency to scumbag Fox's government.

My solution: make Mexico a partial US colony. In return for accepting Mexican labor, Fox pays us $20,000 a head, per year. That way we cover the public education, healthcare, and law enforcement costs imposed by illegal mexican invaders. At that rate, Fox can still clear a decent profit.

Additionally, Fox agrees to American appointed governors in Chihuahua, Baja, Nuevo Leon, Sonora, Zaragoza, and Tamaulipas states.

Let Fox ingest that one for awhile!

As an example of his "nontraditional" understanding of borders and authority: the Mexican consulate here in Phoenix is distributing 3000 tickets for Fox's appearance tomorrow afternoon at the Phoenix Civic Plaza, where he will have what is described as a "community meeting". Also, they've been running Spanish-language radio ads urging people to turn out for this.

Actually, I don't think he's the one who is confused.

I just came back from a 2 week business trip in Mexico...Nice place to visit and quite honestly met some caring people.

I noticed that most of the Mexican are family oriented and I wish I could say that for others in the world. I have to think that because they are so close to family the money becomes a secondary issue....unless they wish to excel beyond there (Mexico's economy) capability. Then they turn to the US. Who can blame them....but when they do that I expect them to come in legally and above all...

I demand that Fox keeps his ideas in Mexico for the benefit of the Mexicans...and DON'T even try to make ANY suggestions on how to run my government. As a proud citizen of the United States...I welcome others that want to contribute to this great nation...but not those that just want to criticize it!
