You ever going to cite any law other than bad judicial precedent?

Which, as per your usual attitude, is anyone who doesn't agree with the Grand Poohbah.Yes. I've found, through hard-won experience, that the set:
(Those who disagree with me)
is congruent with the set:
(Complete frickin' idiots).

Yep. I totally understand.
To: EternalVigilance
You ever going to cite any law other than bad judicial precedent?Like it or not, unless Congress sees fit to clarify its intent via legislation or via impeachment of judges you disagree with, that precedent is valid. If every case was approached solely on the basis of first impression and the outcome left to the whim of the ruling judge, you'd like the results far less than you do the current system.
Moore deliberately threw this case. He should have won, but he refused to make the winning argument.
If the Force gives folks like Roy "Elmer Gantry" Moore power over weaker minds, his cheerleading squad wouldn't have enough mental energy to run the dynamo in a firefly's butt...

Not the sole power. What part of "No state shall" don't you get?

Precedent is only a good thing if the previous decision was a good one.To keep building your skyscaper on a poor foundation is madness. To keep building law on top of bad (one rogue's agenda-driven opinion) law is equally insane.
IMO, our judiciary and our Senate remind me of each other. Both have a country club mentality. And I mean that in the worst possible way. They would rather be "polite" than follow the Constitution and do their jobs.
Good ol' boy network, at their service, indeed.

Communists have long used the technique of infiltrating an organization, then subverting it to their ideology and driving out the those honestly trying to do their civic duty and uphold the law. In my county, this has happened to the city council, the school board, even the PTA. It is to the point where good people, good citizens refuse to participate because of the hatred and rancor levelled at them when they attend these meetings, or try to run for office.
If you allow the liberals/communists to take over and subvert the board, well, you just can't. They can be stood down, but it is at personal sacrifice sometimes. They will call you names, try to demonize you and try to make it so unpleasant that you don't come here anymore. We must stand up to them with truth, with facts and with conviction.
I don't believe that it is in our national heritage to give up without a fight. The battle over the 10 commandments is just one, but there are many others, including the different communications media. The liberal/communists own too many of the newspaper and television outlets. Don't give up another one to them.

All that statement proves is that you don't know a thing about Alabama politics.
Well the ethics panel I presume is FROM Alabama. So what's the concern?
To: EternalVigilance
Are you willing to let that be the be all and end all of our form of government?
It's done us well for the last couple of hundred years.
To: MissAmericanPie
None of the laws passed or rulings from the Supreme Court have been in line with the freedoms and restrictions in the Constitution. So therefore they should be considered void and of no effect to the citizen.
Who decides what and when a ruling is 'over the line'?

LOL this is a keeper.

I agree, I do not mind being reviled. I am hanging in there. I just got through recording a song about all this. You should read some of my hate mail.
I just think it is sad that the Republican Party takes us for granted the same way the Democrats take the minorities for granted.
I will tell you one thing though. If they don't like The "God" this Nation is under Now. They sure ain't gonna' like his replacement.

Isn't it amazing how many freepers think they understand the Constitution?

That sentence fragment hardly constitutes a rational argument. "No state shall" what? Place the ten commandments in a rotunda? Make a law saying everyone has to love Jesus and go to church on Sunday? What?
The 14th does not say what you and the courts are claiming it says. It DOES say that CONGRESS is the one with the power to enact legislation to enforce the provisions of the amendment. Your "not the sole power" answer is grasping for straws. It does not say that "Congress shall have power", it says "Congress shall have THE power".
If the courts can assume power to enforce the 14th as they see fit then I suppose Judge Moore can as well.

The ACLU targeted Judge Moore when he was an unknown low-level magistrate. If he has an agenda, it is an understandable one; and one I agree with. Nice to see our side on the offensive, instead of on the defensive.
Didn't realize I was stirring up such a hornets-nest when I suggested we support Judge Moore!
It is hard to believe some of the remarks that have been posted. I wonder if some of these folks are really aware of what is happening to our country?
First of all, the 10 Commandments are the very basis of law, going back to the time of Moses. Our country is becoming more and more secular - God is almost gone - no matter how you know him. Next go ethics (look at Terri Schiavo) and, just today, I heard that they are going to force toddlers into preschool (for their own good). This way, the system can start brainwashing the children from age 4.
This is why I fully support Judge Moore, for standing for principal and putting his career on the line. Just how many people would do that these days? All we have is yes men/women. And, thanks to the ACLU, things are only going to get worse. They are always ready to fight - we the people are satisfied to let "George do it.
One last item, I understand the title CHRISTMAS is being removed from our school calendars. CHRIST is offensive.

The commies have taken over the PTA? Long ago.
