I actually wonder why Jodi's mother would even CONSIDER her daughter marrying a man who has already abused one woman into a seriously disabled state and then tried to killer off THREE TIMES "legally".

I've wondered that too. On the other hand, I've also wondered whether Jodi couldn't have something up her sleeve. After all, I'm not sure that she's necessarily done anything that she could be prosecuted for, especially if she were to suddenly start singing like a canary. She could tell what a monster Michael was and get him locked up for a long time while she keeps all the assets that were conveniently placed in her name.
