Miller on Politicized Intelligence Memo:
‘Heads Should Roll’

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Zell Miller (D-GA) today released the following statement concerning a memo written by Democratic staff on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence that suggests ways to politicize intelligence data:

“I have often said that the process in Washington is so politicized and polarized that it can’t even be put aside when we’re at war. Never has that been proved more true than the highly partisan and perhaps treasonous memo prepared for the Democrats on the Intelligence Committee.

“Of all the committees, this is the one single committee that should unquestionably be above partisan politics. The information it deals with should never, never be distorted, compromised or politicized in any shape, form or fashion. For it involves the lives of our soldiers and our citizens. Its actions should always be above reproach; its words never politicized.

“If what has happened here is not treason, it is its first cousin. The ones responsible - be they staff or elected or both should be dealt with quickly and severely sending a lesson to all that this kind of action will not be tolerated, ignored or excused.

“Heads should roll!”

I just e-mailed Senator Miller and asked him to try and get this turned over to the Ethics Committee.

I like Miller, but just cannot understand why he wants to be labeled with these people. He is not going to change them.

Bump. Walk toward the light Senator.

He used a charming analogy the other day to explain why he stayed a Dem. Somthing along the lines of living in a home where the plumbing was bad, the commodes leaked, the roof needed repairs, some strange people you didn't even know were living in the basement. But it's your home. You're too old to move, and living their suits you, your family. He put it much better than my paraphrase. He's a decent, honorable man. Pity his party is no longer decent or honorable.

Amazing how a life-long politician that wasn't elected and is not running for re-election suddenly gets balls. A good case-in-point for term limits.

Go Zig Zag Zell!

He's been a Democrat all his life and is now quitting politics. He figures there's no point in changing jusst before he retires.

Are you kidding? That he's a Democrat is the best possible gift he could give us conservatives.

I'm wondering what happened to ol' Zig Zag.

His zig hasn't zagged in a long time. He's been a regular straight arrow for a few years now.

“Heads should roll!”

But they won't. We have very few Republican congress critters with the intestinal fortitude to stand their ground and duke it out.

Roughly 99% of those addresses, the people on the other end will automatically delete anything that is sent to multiple addresses or appears to be a forwarded press release. You are far more likely to have your views heard in any of those news organizations by writing your own letter, and addressing it to one organization at a time.
I know it takes more work, but they read letters that look like they took work. Not mass mail lists.

Ping to Zell Miller's press release that the "memo" from the Rats on the Intelligence Committee border on treasonous.

I heard Sen. Miller's comments and your paraphrase reads almost exactly as I heard them. Thank you.

I would trade 15 Rinos for one Zell. This guy has great courage and honor.

Jim Jeffords betrayal is funny in light of Mr Zell Miller. We sure got the better deal in relation to that comparison..

Wonder if this is why Kerry is calling for Rumsfield to resign.
