To be perfectly honest with you i personally find the smell ...no, stench ....of smoke abhorrent! Now, the choice to smoke or not is up to the individual, but they cannot just go and light up anywhere. The 'no smoking in public places' regulation is one that i can live with ...perfectly.

p.s: There are few things more vomit-inducing than a co-worker coming to ask a question, and immediately flooding your olfactory senses with the deep dank stench of what i refer to as the 'stale cigarette smoke' smell. That is the smell residue left from a cigarette a person smoked sometime before ....or even worse the person smokes so much that it almost seems as if every movement they make releases more of the stench (like when even there clothes start to smell of 'stale smoke).

Disgusting!

"Public places" as in beaches, parks, parking lots, etc? Or in "Public places" such as privately owned bars, restaraunts, garages, etc?

Ah poor baby. I sure hope YOUR underarms smell sweet. Pity the person that would have to be close to YOU!

I have a co-worker who is terminally addicted to the vice, and not only does he give off the "stale cigarette smoke" odor, but he has this horrible noxious stench that comes right off his lungs and smells exactly like dog shit. People talk about it behind his back; most of them mistake it for body odor and snicker about his personal hygiene, but after working with him for four years, I can tell you without doubt that it's his breath. He's had a number of mini-strokes; he's badly overweight and has type-II diabetes, and has been advised repeatedly by everyone to give up his vice, but he's determined to die with it. I feel badly for him, because he's one of the nicest, pleasantest, most hard-working and dependable men I've ever known. Of course as a conservative, I'm obliged to endorse smoking, since the liberals despise it.

The smell of cigarette smoke can be washed off - the STENCH of narrow mindedness such as you display is bone deep and can not be cleansed.

That is disgusting.

What is your definition of public places. Does private property constitute a public place that merits government interference of its use or should a private property owner be allowed to make the decision by themself?
