Soon enough, anyone with an Arabic sounding name will be open season in the USA.

And the guy wanted in Canada is an Al Qaeda operative known as Jafa the Pilot who lived with the South Florida hijackers and attended the same flight school as MMoussaoui and has been on the runs since 9/11.

Canada is a worthless socialist wasteland. We should be treating them like Cuba.

re your post 197 and planes and airports in the news lately...See this thread:

An Interesting Discussion on FREEREPUBLIC.com regarding an ANANOVA.com article: "TWO KILLED IN PHILIPPINES AIRPORT DRAMA" (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Officials have confirmed that two men who tried to seize the air traffic control tower at Manila airport have been killed in a shoot-out with security officers. Former air transport office chief Panfilo Villaruel and Ricardo Gatchalian were killed in the incident, Edgardo Manda, general manager of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport said. "Our special operations unit has neutralised the situation," he said. Officers tried to persuade Villaruel to surrender after he occupied the control tower office but negotiations failed. It is believed the victims were carrying handguns. National security adviser Roilo Golez said Villaruel took over a highly sensitive installation that required immediate police action. He said Villaruel's action could have paralysed air traffic and affected national security and the economy." (Read More...)

180 pounds of spent fuel waste

Currently, the United States has nearly 8,000 active/operational nuclear warheads, and an additional 2,700 kept in inactive status. That is a stockpile of nearly 11,000 active/operational near active nuclear warheads ready to be flown by a conglomerate of U.S. strike bomber aircraft, battle groups, and land launching facilities.

I think he/she is over matched.

Then fanatical Moslems would reduce their own numbers by making stupid attempts to visit the dead zone.

I like the way you think. Here are three irreuftable facts;

1. To keep the peace in Iraq, mosques and mullahs need to be targeted. Thats where the weapons and the hate comes from.

2.Islam/arabs/muslims hate us. Nothing will change that.

3. Islam is not a religion of peace. If it was the 900,000,000 "peaceful and tolerant" muslims would turn on the "fringe groups" and militants" but they dont. Instead they elect people like the Malaysian prime minister.

Im not a celebrity, politician, or in the media. Therefore, Im not afraid to call a spade a spade; Islam has declared war on civilization. When I say that, they want the whole world to be muslim. Thats how I see it.

As a Gov't employee, I can only say that it will take a miracle to stop a second major attack on our soil. There have been improvements since 9/11. Sadly, not nearly enough has been done. Our northern and southern borders are not as secure as the Feds would like you to believe. Many supervisors are career employees who have had their heads stuck up there a***s for to long. I'm proud of what I do. I also live in a world of reality. I have seen the best and worst of people. I can honestly say that most of us are caring, hard working people. However, many front line bosses are inept and useless. I am being honest when I say that not that much has changed since the last administration. Be vigilant and aware. This will be a very dangerous month. I hope that I am proven wrong.

I once had a tour of Hunt's Point (food terminal and distribution point) in New York, and I was stunned to find that Manhattan, were it isolated and cut off from outside food supplies on any day, would have exactly 2 days' food supply before chaos would break out.

Don't believe everything a tour guide tells you. Manhattan would not "break out in chaos" any more quickly than your own town would. Do you really think supermarkets and private homes in New York City only stock a 36-hour supply of food?

Are there any science-type FReepers out there who know what 180 lbs of nuke material can do?

Keep 5,000 people in bunny suits busy for six months cleaning up a nasty mess? Some people in the immediate vicinity of the dirty bomb blast would be killed by the conventional blast, the number would depend on where it is set off. The health effects on those exposed to any of radioactive material near and downwind of the blast would depend on how long they remained in affected area before vacating and what type of material was used. The real power of this type of weapon is psychological. Ninety-percent of the public would hear 'explosion' and 'radioactivity' uttered in the same sentence and liken it to a proper nuclear explosion which is many times more deadly.

Well I thought things were improving until a boy placed box cutters on a plane and then emailed the gov't to say he had done so. To top it all off, a person flew himself from NY to TX in a cargo box aboard a cargo plane. Hoping these are embarrasing moments and not the norm.

Saudi Arabia should be top on the list, considering the majority of 911 hijackers.

Oh i forgot, they are our Allies.. *cough*

I wonder how the world and especially the US would do without Saudi oil.

I wish I knew how to post articles. I got this Robin Williams bit in an email (it might be really old?) but I'll post it here anyway! Your comment on our borders made me think of it.

Good point. And how come I am not seeing a pipeline from Iraq to my local gas station? What's up with that?

That's the problem I'm having here. I'm seeing a "he said, she said" situation. I am more inclined to believe the FBI, and would be more so if it was an offical release. This seems suspicious that's why I don't understand how that article can convince anyone that this is a completely false story.
