McAuliffe: Bush Dodged Nat'l Guard Service
NewsMax ^ | 11/9/03 | Limbacher

Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe complained on Sunday that President Bush shouldn't have worn a flightsuit on the deck of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln earlier this year because of allegations he didn't fulfill a commitment to serve in the Alabama National Guard 30-years ago.

Complaining about the president's May 1 appearance on the Lincoln's flight deck, McAuliffe told CNN's "Late Edition" that Bush "didn't wear [a flightsuit] when he should have worn one when he was supposedly in the Alabama National Guard."

The insinuation that Bush dodged military service stunned fellow "Late Edition" guest, Republican National Committee Chairman Ed Gillespie, who shook his head in disgust as McAulliffe recycled the discredited charge.

The president did fly high performance aircraft during a stint in the Texas Air National Guard in the 1970's, a fact McAuliffe omitted from his diatribe.

The DNC chief delivered the low blow while complaining that Bush had prematurely declared major combat operations over during his Lincoln speech, while speaking beneath a sign that read "Mission Accomplished."

Revisiting the controversy, McAuliffe told CNN, "What the president was saying when he was strutting around on that aircraft carrier wearing a flight suit - which I remind you, he didn't wear when he should have worn one when he was supposedly in the Alabama National Guard - but clearly what came out of that was, he was saying that our job had been completed [and] major combat operations were over."

When the New York Times examined Democrat accusations that Bush hadn't fulfilled his full Alabama National Guard commitment during to 2000 election campaign, it turned up no evidence he had dodged serving.

I've missed a lot of drills too, so I guess I'm okay to vote for GW. How many did Terry attend, BTW?

McAwful swindled the Global Crossings stockholders with an overnight $100,000 to $18,000,000 insider trading set-up. He also has made many millions swindling union members with crooked real estate deals.

The BIG lie told often enough - they hope - it's all they have.

The same way they keep saying "Bush lied" about Iraq/Saddam - even though Bush cited the Brits in his SOTU speech and the Brits still stand by their findings.

And Bush did NOT say the danger was imminent - in fact replaying the video of his speech as Tony Snow did in his gotcha of Jay Rockefeller, shows Bush saying we didn't want to wait until the danger was imminent.

Oh, and I almost forgot - Bush stole Florida - when anyone who can read the US and FL Constitutions knows that Gore is the one who was trying to steal FL.

You're right. They're desperate and our side should just laugh at these silly jabs and ridicule them wjile going for their throats. Stay on the attack and stay on this dem memo fiasco. The dems will bring up anything to distract form that. Also, we need a better guy for that RNC job. We need someone who can speak better.

McAuliffe is an idiot with no scruples whatsoever. He is the perfect person to be running the Democrat party. He is running it into the ground, and those of us on the other side, will enjoy a real "party" when he finishes his inevitable task. We are almost there now!

If the election next year turns out like we all hope and expect and we can look forward to another great 4 years of tax cuts and improving economy........I'd say we should all pop the cork on our American champagne New Year's Eve of 2004 and give a toast to the President and to ourselves!!

the Rats are absolutely obsessed with this "flight suit" thing.

They are trying to taint the image, so that it can't be used in '04. It's going to backfire on them, as did the Wellstone Funeral Two Minute Hate Rally, as also did the Caulifornia Awnold Hatefest.

The Liberals' hatred of Bush's success has driven them insane.

Somebody needs to post two photos, if possible. One of Bill Clinton during the Vietnam war era with his scrubby hippy beard, (I saw it on a video); and another of George W. Bush in his 'Guard flight suit, (or other military duty photo) during the same period. A picture is worth a thousand words.

And don't forget. The first scheme the clintons hatched to "buy" the house in NY was McAuliffe putting up the entire amount of the purchase price (over the asking price, if recall! who does THAT?) in cash in some account.

That stank so much that even sympathetic media couldn't gloss over it, so they obtained their "mortgage" in Pennsylvania or wherever. But that's one of the first times McAuliffe first crossed my radar screen as a hinky character in the long parade of them in the lives that make up the clinton saga.

Oh, it's just McAuliffe desperate to prove his relevance in the face of all the RAT losses. Tell us about Global Crossing, Terry.

Boy this flight suit thing really gets the Demonrats riled.

I think he should do it again.

Any day when you can rile a Demonrat is a good day.

Terry is our Manchurian Candidate. The GOP, behind the scenes, helped Terry step by step to reach the ultimate power slot in the Democratic Party. Once this goal was reached, double agent Terry is supposed to systematically destroy the Democratic Party.

So far, it is working according to plan. Congrats to Karl Rove for such an ingenius plot.

3 Management Styles
by non-revisionist history buff • Friday September 26, 2003 at 10:27 AM

Stalin, FDR, & Hitler all enacted state capitalism, but their management styles varied.

As far as modern national socialism is concerned; Halliburton contracts are SOCIALISM. Airline bailouts are SOCIALISM. Use of a national military to safeguard personal economic interests is SOCIALISM. The use of a aircraft carrier for a campaign kickoff is SOCIALISM.
