Twenty-Six House Democrats Push to Fire Rumsfeld
Reuters ^ | 11/10/03

Posted on 11/10/2003 4:20:49 PM PST by TexKat

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A group of more than two dozen House of Representatives Democrats on Monday said they had introduced a resolution urging President Bush to fire Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld.

"This resolution would make official what so many members of Congress already believe -- that the soldiers in Iraq and America's foreign policy would be helped greatly if Donald Rumsfeld would leave," Rep. Charles Rangel of New York said in a statement.

Rangel said he so far had 25 co-sponsors to the resolution who were "willing to stand up and say what so many policy makers know, that the first step to bringing our troops home is to send Donald Rumsfeld home."

The resolution said Rumsfeld misled the American public on assessments of progress in the war and occupation, sent U.S. forces to Iraq "without adequate planning and sufficient equipment," and "demonstrated a lack of sensitivity" in statements on the war and U.S. casualties.

With members of the deeply divided, Republican-controlled Congress pushing for adjournment before the end of November, the resolution would be highly unlikely to come up for a vote.

Donald Rumsfeld is, without question, one of the finest Secretaries of Defense/War this country has ever seen.

I remember when Bush was assembling his Cabinet, and I was rooting for Dan Coats to get Defense.... and was disappointed when some guy named Rumsfeld got it instead. "Who the hell is this guy?" I wondered. Well, Rummy has sure as hell shown what he's made of and I pray he'll be there through the end of Bush's second term.

Where's the rest of the slimey sewer dwellers? We got that many step-n-fetchit members of the Congressioanl Black Caucus! They all lined up several years back and swore Willie was telling the truth. Terry says lie, and, by golly, they lie. Do these weasels really believe that their constant obstructionism, whineing, bitching and trying to force good guys to resign (why doesn't Rockefeller resign?) convinces any one? They are all lying scumbags and all they are doing is proving to the few non-committed that the dems can't be trusted.

Next, Rangle will submiy a resolution urging George senior to disown his son. Rangle should concentrate on the important, fully segregated, step-n-fetchit business of his racist caucus,

It's so ridiculous that one can only laugh.

They say that Rummie sent them there "unplanned and unready." JH2's "quagmire" commentary demonstrates how truly inept these critics are....they are sloppy thinkers, slow learners, and slippery liars.

And the Low Intensity Conflict (LIC) plan is working extremely well.

President Bush said a few months back that the High Intensity Conflict (HIC) phase had ended. The following LIC phase is making great progress. All the while nation-building is proceeding faster than ever before in the history of the world. (And far faster than Bosnia/Kosovo where we were promised we would be only for one year)

I wanted former sec def Cheney to run for POTUS and Rummy for Veep. As it worked out the mix is pretty good. Since Rummy would be too "senior" (as in retirement age) for a run at POTUS in '04. W has a terrific team in his cabinet; with the exception of Homeland Security, Tom Ridge. Tenet doesn't seem to have much depth either; then again the CIA ops shouldn't be memoed out to the media. Oh well. Time will tell.

They mean their agenda would be better served if more troops died as well as the slick trick of removing Rumsfeld.
They love to capitalise the deaths of soldiers.
Maybe they should be handed a weapon and told to go to the front themselves?
They'd be less likely to be gleeful at the deaths of soldiers.

The man is just another Jesse Jackson but isn't positioned (though he could have been) to hijack big business on the terms of "racial equality". Rangle is so stupid, I'm surprised he can spell his own name. He and Al stir the "racial equality" pot.

I'd LOVE to see a vote on this resolution.

But of course, this won't ever see the light of day, and not because of Congress adjourning soon. They could always re-introduce it next session, but this is merely a publicity stunt--a whining, foot stamping hissy fit publicity stunt on the part of some Dems.

Thank you. I imagine that you are in your 50s or 60s, and remeber the era of Sweater Girls. My wife and I are in our mid-50s and remember our older sisters displaying this "shape."

When Karen walks through a crowd (airport, movie theater, whatever; the eyes of men AND women follow her chest. Sometimes, people have stopped and asked "where they could find a bra that fits and projects like that."

They are always polite... never rude.

If I knew how to post a photo, I'd send a photo of a very beautiful actress, Marlena Dietrich, from the late 1940s wearing a bullet bra providing the "Sweater Girl" look.

The same Charlie Rangel who said we MURDERED Qusay and Hussein, the torturing outlaw sons of the brutal dictator Saddam Hussein?

THAT Charlie Rangel?

The traitorous scumbag Democrat (redundant, I know) who has done everything in his power to disparage our efforts to fight terrorism, and has thusly lent aid and comfort to our enemies?

THAT Charlie Rangel?

The only thing that surprises me at this point is that he is not in Levenworth, facing High Treason charges.
