I'm a life-long science fiction fan, but Star Trek has vanished below my radar screen.
Try a little David Weber, Genevieve Bujold, or Elizabeth Moon.

Me too. I got tired of Star Trek's sermon of the week.

Noooooooooo. Save Enterprise at all costs!!

Now for something completely mindless...Are you referring to the scripts, or to Capt. Bakula?
I watched the premier. It stunk. Never went back. They haven't made one single Star Trek rip-off show that I liked.

Berman and Braga have ruined Trek. New writers need to take the franchise and start with a clean slate, after taking a 10 year hiatus.
Personally I would like to see them forget all of the new Federation history and go back to the old series timeline and start over with Captain Pike, Kirk's predecessor. I don't see how they can recapture that spirit of exploration though. Almost all of the writers in Hollywood have to put in their PC gobbldygook in shows now.

Rick Berman (producer) has thoroughly ruined it.

You haven't missed much. Between the writing and that damned opening theme, they are daring people to hate it.

The most recent couple of episodes have been much better. Of course, I'd watch it just for T'pol. I love a woman with big...ears.

Oh boy, Star Trek! Time to tune in to the sermon of the week! Time to listen to the P.C. police lecture me on how we all need to be "tolerant" and "non-judgemental" and "accepting" of the latest poison being promoted by the Bolsheviks who run Hollywood!
No thanks. I've tuned out "Star Drek" for years now, ever since "Forager", er, "Voyager". I've had it with PC programming. As far as I'm concerned Star Drek died years ago. I could just care less about it any longer.
"Stargate: SG-1" is my preferred sci-fi series nowadays. Yes, it has some PC garbage in it, but at least it isn't a non-stop PC fest like Star Drek has become.

You sure they do not mean 'Voyager'? That is the most boring piece of television since the Home Shopping Network began airing.
I kind of like 'Enterprise'...

Yes, the mild entertainment was ruined by the preaching. I also got tired of the toothpicks in skin suits who had no understanding of why the men were chasing them.
and then I found Babylon 5......... no contest, Star Trek lost
To: PLMerite
Save it! T'pol is reason enough.

I think the latest series is dying. I watched a few episodes of Voyager and despised it. The current series is way too PC, and - much worse - it tends to be mindless.
Do you recall the time a couple of the crew were mining an asteroid, and one fell and broke his leg? Now what's the gravity of an asteroid for heaven's sake?
And tonight's episode we'll see a parallel universe with a western motif. Oh, good grief. How many times have we seen Star Trek going into the wild west now? It wasn't good sci-fi on the first series, and now it's merely a rehash..
I wanted the series to be good. I wanted to believe it was good. But the PC nonsense is killing most entertainment, including Star Trek.
