LOL!

Pretty scary wind gusts here in northern CT. It's only a matter of time until the power goes out here, I'm sure. We've got many big oak trees over 50ft tall... sure hope one doesn't fall on the house...

Windows were really rattling this AM in Chelsea. The wind along the Hudson is very strong, tons of white caps.

The winds woke me up this morning. Very strong when I was walking to work.

I live in Sussex County NJ and the winds all night were crazy. I thought the Siding was going to fly off of my house.

Shoulda been in my neck of the woods last night. Here in Michigan, we had gusts over 70mph. Thousands lost power, including me... hundreds of trees down... including a few in my woods. So brace yourself, NY... this will not be fun.

Of course, now we're getting lake effect snow.

Probably caused by your windbag mayor.

I would imagine this will eventually create a Lake Erie "seiche" where the water starts oscillating back and forth after the wind stops.

Buckle up in NY.

Gusty winds from north to south here on the gulf coast in Alabama, not to bad. The temperature is suppose to 'plunge' and tonight is forecast to be as low as 39, coldest day so far this winter, yesterday was in the mid-80's.

The wind seemed to be blowing harder and in a different direction than the winds of Hurricane Isabel this morning in Burke, VA and surrounding areas. On the way to the metro station, we saw three big trees down in one stretch of road. One was on power lines, one was broken near the front of a house with limbs partially in the street and the third was collapsed and covering a pickup truck.

LOL - that's okay. If I take the train I usually take the 7. But I am trying to save money by not taking the train and not buying lunch or breakfast. I am getting cheap in my old age. Besides I lost a hell of alot of weight by walking to and from work. Its about 2 1/2 - 3 miles and takes me one and onehalf hours. Beats going to the gym!

I'm in Northern Jersey, and at about 5:30 or so this morning, there was a gust strong enough to knock a picture which was above a closed window in my bedroom off the wall. Startled the heck out of me.

Will increase this afternoon, actually.

I looked at the records for Isabel in MD/DC and actually if OKX is right, the NYC area winds will generally be about as strong; there were no gusts above 50-70 mph in Maryland for Isabel.

Here at Exit 105, GSP , the lights have been flickering all morning. Probably just a matter of time before they go out for good.
