In a startling about face for U.S. intelligence officials, a bombshell memo released by the CIA on Saturday draws a direct link between Saddam Hussein and the 9/11 attacks, citing evidence that Iraqi intelligence bankrolled lead 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta in the months leading up to the worst terrorist attack ever on U.S. soil. The previously secret 16 page memo, released by the Senate Intelligence Committee Saturday morning, says Atta met at least three times in Prague with Iraqi intelligence agent Ahmed al Ani prior to the 9/11 attacks.
In a staggering revelation that offers an overwhelming and compelling justification for the U.S. attack on Iraq, the CIA memo says that, during one of these meetings, al Ani "ordered the [Iraqi Intelligence Service] finance officer to issue Atta funds from IIS financial holdings in the Prague office."

The past week the CIA is gushing with released info.
What gives?

I think that's good enough reason to go into Iraq. Besides, everyone knew that they'd met in Prague. The administration probably couldn't confirm it because it was still sensitive.

Could be they're pissed about he Dems Intel Committee memo. The sound you hear may be the trap door under the Dem's feet being sprung. The two memos released seem to refute the Dems talking points about the Iraq/Al Qaeda connection.

Most likely part of the on going pr campaign by the Whitehouse. It looks like the WH is striking back on several fronts,
The next big shoe to drop would be WMD in Iraq.

So the story here is that a part of Saddam's government might have financed the hijackers?

I think that's good enough reason to go into Iraq.
That, plus making sure that Saddam wasn't eventually followed by an even more
evil son, paired with a very competent brother.
That pair could have made Saddam look wimpy by comparison...

Will this info (not the Prague meetings but the Intelligence Committee release) be picked up and confirmed by any other news media? Fox has it, but no one else in a Google news search.
But Newsweek's cover story on "Cheney's Long Path To War" has the following unsubstantiated statement:
as recently as Sept. 14, Cheney continued to leave the door open to Iraqi complicity. He brought up a reportwidely discredited by U.S. intelligence officialsthat 9/11 hijacker Muhammad Atta had met with an Iraqi intelligence officer in Prague in April 2001.
I wonder if the Republicans on the intelligence committee are releaseing this CIA memo to counteract the Newsweek spin? I also wonder if spin on this will be the big fight on the Sunday morning shows?
