Any tips on where to submit a ms. for e-publication?

Get a copy of Adobe Acrobat and convert your Microsoft Word manuscript to PDF using Adobe distiller included in Acrobat.

Then, set yourself up a self-publishing business name (doing business as - DBA) and go to LightningSource.com and get set up with them as your distributor. Then submit your content using your PDF file.

They will then distribute it to Amazon, and many, many others.

RE the business name, do you have to do anything legal (like incorporate), or just make up a name?

All I had to do was make sure that the name Alpha Connections, which I am using, was to register the name with the state of Idaho to make sure registered someone else in the state of Idaho was not using it.

It is not incorporated, just a DBA, sole proprietorship.

I am using two companies, LightningSource and ContentReserve to distribute the eBooks. LightningSource is also printing and distributing my printed version to the same channel (ie. Amazon, barnes & Noble online, BooksAMillion, Wal-Mart online, etc.)

They were very quick this time around.

I'm published by Steelcutter Publishing, which is my "DBA" name. I think it cost $30 and an hour or two in some Cali state gove offices.
