You brought all new meaning to the term "Lightspeed" at the end on this one! LOL! You, Chris and Joanie make all the difference in the world.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Jeff. It's my pleasure. Just let me know when the chapters start flowing for Vol. V ... I'll be ready for 'em!

And let me think about the movie stuff...

This just in...Vol IV debuted as the number two featured adobe ebook title on Powells.com. Powells is one of the largest and most successful online book stores...the online presence of the seven store chain in Portland.

Volume IV debuts as #2 featured Adobe ebook title on Powells

The eBooks and printed are not up on Amazon yet...they are usually pretty slow.

Powell's is a great company, we use them all the time for finding used and out of print books.

What an experience this must have been -- from start to finish, x 4 books + 1 more! Wow! Guess it's good to get all these thoughts out of your head and down onto paper?

Remember to let me know what you think of the book once you've had the chance to read it.

Certainly will do...

JOKE BUMP
Husbands for Sale . . .

A store that sells husbands has just opened in Ottawa where a woman may go to choose a husband from among many men. The store is comprised of 6 floors, and the men increase in positive attributes as the shopper ascends the flights.

There is, however, a catch. As you open the door to any floor you may choose a man from that floor, but if you go up a floor, you cannot go back down except to exit the building.

So a woman goes to the shopping center to find a husband.
On the first floor the sign on the door reads:
Floor 1 - These men have jobs.
The woman reads the sign and says to herself, "Well, that's better
than my last boyfriend, but I wonder what's further up?" So up
she goes.

The second floor sign reads:
Floor 2 - These men have jobs and love, kids.
The woman remarks to herself, "That's great, but I wonder what's
further up?" And up she goes again.

The third floor sign reads:
Floor 3 -
These men have jobs, love kids and
are extremely good looking.
"Hmmm, better" she says. "But I wonder what's upstairs?"

The fourth floor sign reads:
Floor 4 -
These men have jobs, love kids,
are extremely good looking and
help with the housework.
"Wow!" exclaims the woman, "very tempting. BUT, there must be more further up!" And again she heads up another flight.

The fifth floor sign reads:
Floor 5 -
These men have jobs, love kids,
are extremely good looking,
help with the housework
and have a strong romantic streak.
"Oh, mercy me! But just think... what must be awaiting me further on?" So up to the sixth floor she goes.

The sixth floor sign reads:
Floor 6 -
You are visitor 3,456,789,012 to this floor.
There are no men on this floor.
This floor exists solely as proof that
women are impossible to please.
Thank you for shopping Husband Mart
and have a nice day.

November 20, 1943 59 years today Marines landed at Red Beach

US Marine War Memorial
Located at the Prince Philip Park, to honor the USMC veterans of the Tarawa Battle.

Red Beach

Japanese forces occupied the island on December 9, 1941. On November 20, 1943, US forces arrived to secure the island. A heavy naval and aerial bombardment of Betio preceded the landing of 5,000 men of the 2nd Marine Division. Due to the Coral Reefs around the islands, American landing craft could not reach the shore. Close to 1,000 Americans were killed, and over 2,000 wounded during the operation. The war relics on Betio are a reminder of the thousands of American and Japanese soldiers killed there in WWII.

Guess it's good to get all these thoughts out of your head and down onto paper?

Yes, it is very gratifying. I'm thankful to God above for His help in motivating me and then helping me perservere...and for the help of some wonderful family and friends.

God bless them each one. I have an Uncle who was in the seocnd way going onto Tarawa after the first wave got so badly chewed up. He has some horrifi stories to tell...but he tells them so we never forget.

...also, thanks for the joke. I bounced it off the better half and she just smiled.

FYI, the printed version just became available on Barnes & Nobel today

Already added it to my wish list there. Will add it to wish list at Amazon as soon as that becomes possible. I'm under strict orders, from wife and daughters, not to actually buy any books until after Christmas. Hope to to get lots, including yours. What I don't get, I'll order myself on Dec. 25th, assuming I can get online that day, which might a problem, 'cause I'll be out in real fly over country, where our ISP is kinda thin on modems to call. But there's always the library, where I know they have public terminals.

LOL! Those are the exact same marching orders I have from the wife, daughters and sons. Must be the same overall commander over us up the chain of command.

I must have $150-200 worth of books I want for Christmas now.

Let me know what you think when you read Volume IV, I know you are going to like it...and if you are of a mind, please consider a review here on FR or over at Amazon.

Am I just not finding it, or has Amazon not yet got Vol. IV in the printed edition. Was just looking for it, and no joy yet. Can't put it on the wish list until they put up a place for it. They've got the e-reader version, but AFAIK, not the printed version.

Right now, Amazon has not processed the title yet. May be another week to ten days.

But it is available now on both:

Barnes & Noble online

-and-

BooksaMillion online

Hope that helps!

Outstanding! I look forward to your thoughts and comments.

I believe you will really enjoy it. Some pretty intriguing stuff introduced along with the triumphs, joys and tragedies of a serious full-blown, world-war effort on the part of our nation and people.
