It was a cold, dreary day, with temperatures hovering around a finger-numbing 37° Fahrenheit. Wracked with a terrible cold and more than a little feverish, I nonetheless dragged myself out of bed for twenty minutes to take photos of an event worthy of note. Vice President Dick Cheney was to speak at a fundraising breakfast at the Holiday Inn off NYS Thruway Exit 37. I was interested in the personal security implications of such a visit. What was the effect on the surrounding area? What prospects faced protesters gathered to voice opposition to Mr. Cheney? With what would drivers, simply trying to navigate the area, have to deal?

LOL!...yes the grand symbol of the DemonRat Party. It should appear at all their functions.

The nastiest, most obscene, foul demonstration I ever witnessed was the one in Richmond, VA last summer when Vice President Cheney spoke at a fundraiser. As soon as the TV cameras were sighted a woman ran up and down the line shushing everyone not to scream the f word while the media was there. The obscene signs also disappeared.

Thank you for braving the elements both natural and demonic to take a stand for America.

Thanks...Yes, so far, the media have failed to report on the ugly signs, calling GW and Co. "Sons of Satan", etc.

Several signs trivialized rape by using it in referrence to Cheney and the environment...At least there were no swastikas, but several fascist signs...

I wondered about the chants. They said they want regime change now...does that mean an overthrow?

Good job Jon. BTW what unions sent folks to heckle the VP? I hope it wasn't my own. Probably just the Syracuse Labor Council deadbeats. Interesting that they were not earning their pay today. Did they look sick? Other than deranged that is. LOL.

I agree. Past time. There seems to be a rather vocal group around Ithaca and there is plenty of conservative folks between Syr and Rochacha. There were also quite a few people around Canandaigua that were quite active in fighting the Cities for Peace commie resolutions last March.
