Sometimes it is hard to imagine that America was once made out of Europeans. This goes for most people who come from other countries to America today. You ever see/talk with a 3rd generation American (-Mexican) go back to Mexico?

Interesting article.

I'm not quite convinced ours is still a "Christian nation". But as compared to other parts of the world, the United States remains a refuge for those committed to Christ.

I give us 1 to 2 years tops, then the persecution will come to America. Any church that doesn't prepare their people now probably won't remain.

I thought America was made out of Americans. Silly me.

But, for what it's worth, Americans of European descent are still an overwhelming majority. That little fact may have escaped your notice.

A Nation Apart is discussed here: http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1017779/posts

I personally feel the majority of Americans are not Christian, although a majority attend church and subscribe to Christian values, as far as they understand them. I hope I'm wrong.

Certainly our government is secular by law. It has gone past secular to violating the first amendment by prohibiting religious expression. See Judge Moore's persecution for having the ten commandments in his courtroom. The posting of these commands does not establish a religion, nor does it coerce anyone to join one. But the courts rule that way.

Persecution for Christians is guaranteed by Jesus. But be of good cheer. He has overcome the world. And he will return to rule it. See my tag.

Those figures leapt out at me, too. Only 19% of Germans proud to be German? And even more striking considering their snootiness: only 35% of French proud to be French? Really amazing and unexpected (at least to me).

These numbers provide a powerful insight into what's wrong with Europeans, and why they loathe us the way they do. They loath themselves, they're operating from a sense of inferiority -- and as a result they loath us. They are toxic to the core and we should expect nothing but toxic behavior from them. Seeking to please them would be folly. Naturally this is what our europhile friends, the liberals, would like to do: please them. Liberals are toxic as well, of course, so it's only natural. It's analagous to a kid engaging in some sort of self-destructive or self-effacing behavior in order to please an alcoholic parent.

Since abortion (and divorce) are currently illegal in Ireland and Poland, I think they have the most claim to the title, but I think the author was really discounting all but the G-8.

China will most likely be the "last Christian nation" before Christ returns. This book, written by a former Time magazine Beijing bureau chief, explains why.

I cannot recommend it highly enough. Check out the evocative subtitle.

Not for long. California is at about 50% right now. The rest of the nation is expected to become like California in about 20 years.

And that is important because...?
