We were skeptical Saturday night when New York Sen. Hillary Clinton told Iowa Democrats gathered at the Jefferson-Jackson Dinner that she'd spent Veteran's Day night at Washington, D.C.'s Walter Reed Army hospital comforting wounded soldiers just back from Iraq. After all, there wasn't a single media report on the former first lady's Florence Nightingale moment. And even Walter Reed's in-house newspaper, which covered other visits by prominent congresspersons last week, made no mention of Mrs. Clinton's ministering to the troops. Yet somehow nobody noticed as, by her own description, Sen. Clinton "went from room to room and bed to bed, seeing young men who had lost arms and legs, who had head injuries that, at least as for now, prevented them from knowing their names and remembering where they came from." After blaming President Bush for the carnage, the former first lady told the crowd, "I knew that I was seeing the best that America has to offer." A call to Walter Reed's public affairs office Monday morning cleared up the mystery - to some extent, anyway - over why nobody seemed to notice when the world's most famous woman materialized out of the blue to cheer up the troops. Asked about Mrs. Clinton's visit, a hospital spokeswoman initially had no recollection of the episode, telling NewsMax.com, "Most of us were off for Veteran's Day." But after some checking she returned to the line to confirm that the New York Senator had indeed made the pilgrimage, but did so on her own, without any entourage and without notifying the public affairs office. When asked if Walter Reed was in the habit of admitting non-relatives, who hadn't cleared their visit with hospital authorities, to barge in and wander through the sick wards at will, the spokeswoman replied, "When you're the wife of the ex-president, yes."
What next, will she show up at Dover to watch the boides come home, accompaneied by 500 photographers and news cameras, who will slip past the normal rule because they will be covering her, not the arrival of the bodies.
Buzzard.
NOT a Chance that would ever happen!!!!
Hillary Gets Poll Boost as Child Advocate
"First Lady Leads Rudy," blared the Sunday New York Daily News headline, sitting atop the first report in recent memory showing Hillary Clinton pulling ahead of the New York mayor in a poll for the Empire State's U.S. Senate race.
The new poll is something of a shocker, since Rudy Giuliani has consistently led Mrs. Clinton in head-to-head match-ups for months.
And Hillary's lead is fairly impressive, with 47 percent preferring her, 39 percent for Rudy, among 805 registered New York voters surveyed last week.
The Daily News credited one issue above all others that works heavily in Mrs. Clinton's favor:
"The first lady is getting a lift from her well-known background as an advocate for children."
Well-known? Certainly. But well-deserved? She certainly talks the talk.
Still, Inside Cover can't help but recall one of the more disturbing reports to ever grace the pages of the American Spectator, which has unearthed more than its share of disturbing news during the Clinton years.
The Spectator had examined one of Mrs. Clinton's classic kiddie-compassion photo-ops, a January 1997 visit to the pediatrics ward at Georgetown University Medical Center.
The young patients were quite ill and looked it. Several were terminal cases. But word of Mrs. Clinton's visit had all of them delighted and thrilled. She was slated to lift their spirits by reading excerpts from author Maurice Sendak's "Where the Wild Things Are," his award-winning children's book. But, according to the Spectator:
"Alas, the first lady's advance team became squeamish about their boss appearing with kids who weren't looking 100 percent in the pink; in fact, hospital officials were told not to allow any children into the photo-op who were 'drowsy,' bald, bearing tubes in their bodies or 'sick looking.'"
Instead, perfectly healthy children of the hospital staff were ushered into a conference room, which had been redecorated as a playroom for the occasion. There the first lady got her photo-op as America's No. 1 child advocate, while the sick kids were left cooling their heels well outside of camera range.
One hospital source told the Spectator that the truly ill children were devastated, having concluded that Mrs. Clinton had deemed them "too sick to be seen" with her.
Maybe she just needed to get her prostate checked.
OH NO. That's not good enough when it comes to confirming a clinton episode. We need NAMES. WHO did she check with? Sorry, but until I see a picture of a human with a name listed as actually having SEEN the succubus, I won't believe it.
What rule would prevent the old first lady from going to Dover AFB and taking a photo-op exploiting those that gave their lives for our nation?
As Michael Savage might say, 'Get ready for the 'she-ocracy.'
I think the only thing she has to consider is whether she should wait until '08, or hope that the dirty-tricks department will finish doing their thing on George Bush and chance opposing him in '04. I think greed, ego, and impatience will cause her to believe the polls and she'll opt for '04. You can sense her body is already trembling with orgasm in anticipation. (Her body being the demo-crazy party, of course. .... ahem).
It could. Anything is possible.
Of course she may have had a secondary reason for sneaking in though...
Is anything missing?
