A person could argue that there's nothing unethical in violating the privacy of a wrongdoer for the purpose of exposing his wrongdoing.

This story talks about the Judiciay Committee, not the Intelligence Committee

The Dems will use this feigned outrage to confuse the issue of the memo from the Intelligence Committee. Pretty soon the story will be so confusing, everybody (including reporters) will tune it out and say "everybody's at fault, let's forget it"!

I think you are. Stolen property will always bear the taint of being stolen - you can't wash it away with the old "ends justify the means" argument. If you support lawbreaking to gain political points you lose any right to be upset when others ignore your cries for "justice".
Do you support law & order? Or, are you willing to cast aside all values to garner a "win"? Making deals with the devil usually means there will be a price to pay later. Who will pick up the tab when the bill comes due?
Winning is great, but if you have to cheat (rob, lie, cheat, steal..) the victory will allways be tainted. If the conservative agenda needs low morals to win - maybe it's time to check the rule book.

We got upset over the Anita Hill leak, and to be very honest, I do NOT like the notion of descending to the Rats level.

I'd keep it at a suspension with pay, but I'd offer the Rats a deal: IMMEDIATE confirmation of Brown, Owen, and the other filibustered nominees and an end to filibusters through President Bush's tenure in office in return for the firing AND BLACKLISTING (he'll never work for a Republican Senator again) of the suspended staffer.

If they refuse, the staffer returns to work, and just might get a promotion.

Looks like a great setup by the Democrats. They have the moral highground now regarding leaked memos, and the Republicans look like saps.

Thats 180 degrees. They cant take the Moral High ground without having to address the substance, and the staffer is suspended with pay, until someone else can give him a job....I would say that is pretty nice work by our side, exposing them to the extent that the media will let it happen, and quietly taking care of the guy that did it.

I would also bet that this staffer was more likely than not in a position to be moving on to a different job anyway....

They cant. One of the memoes that would invariably come up in that discussion is the seeking of an IC to coincide with the election....

Whenever the name "Orrin G. Hatch" comes up, it always reminds me of August 1998, when Hatch "begged" Bill Clinton to "come clean" on Monica. Needless to say, Clinton was laughing in Hatch's face!

It shows me how truly naive Hatch is. He is symptomatic of other leaders who don't understand the nature of the Democrats, specifically, Clinton. Truly sad.

Really though, Enterprise, how could Orrin G. Hatch, who has been in the Senate for just a month short of 27 years, NOT understand the operational mode and INTENT of the Democrats. They shove "it" in his face day after day. This must me a conditon beyond naivete, almost a morbid misunderstanding of the enemy. Correction, not "enemy" but what Jack Kemp calls "our liberal friends." I don't understand UT voters. They seem to think Hatch is more than "fine."

Well, I think morbid is a good term here. It is like someone kicking you in the groin and laughing, and you say he is your friend, he's just having a little fun. The policies of the Democrats have hurt this country over the years. An intelligent politician would have recognized this a long time ago and stopped referring to these people as "friends."
