Thanks for taking the time to visit those in WR. A lady at work who husband recently passed away brought in a box of shampoos and mens toiletries to send to the guys in Iraq. If you post an address again where I can send this to I think you have a better need for most of it.

If anyone wants to send phone cards and small items to the DC Chapter's post office box, we will see that they are delivered to the soldiers at Walter Reed.

I'd also like to add that I talked with MJY1288 a few minutes ago, and he told me that he'd sent 4 rolls (those are 100-stamp rolls!) to WRAMC with his sister-in-law who is a social worker at a VA Hospital in DC. Having a DoD sticker on your vehicle really helps! He told me he asked her to take them to wards 57 and 58 (Orthopedics and Neuroscience, respectively) and to pick two other wards to give them to. Now I need to get back in there so they have more cards and envelopes to put those stamps on!

I love you guys. Thanks, TNt, Mike.
Looking forward to future efforts and reports ~ and to watching this FR effort grow. Y

President BUSH is now on the FoX News Channel addressing the good folks at Walter Reed Medical Center thanking all for their service to America in Time of War. BUSH's Secretary of State COLIN POWELL is recuping there nicely, per the President.

LOSS OF LIMB NO LONGER MEANS FORCED DISCHARGE This apparently has been true for a while. General Franks who led the VII Corps in Desert Storm lost a leg in Vietnam. Was not easy for him to overcome but he did it. I hope the admin brings him back to work with Today's heros.

BUSH: LOSS OF LIMB NO LONGER MEANS FORCED DISCHARGE
It doens't matter where a person sees Dubya: conservative, centrist, or
over-spending Republican...
the guy has compassion.
In full honesty, I've got to say that what I'm saying is from the mouth of
a never-served civilian.
But after seeing the CBS special about the three soldiers recovering at
WRAMC, one of them learning to walk with the use of a $100,000+ computerized
FULL leg prothesis...I can't help but think that someone like that, if they wished
to do a job fitting with their capabilities...why not keep their brains,
experience, and "institutional memory" in the military.
I bet there were more than a few guys at WRAMC smiling for the first time in a long
time when they heard this.

And now this from JOE GALLOWAY:
Quote:
...This is the response we received from Col. JON JAFFIN, MD, Commandant of Walter Reed Army Hospital to a query about whether the Red Cross donated goods are making it into the hands of Patients/Soldiers:
.."I have had Soldiers (Patients) helping the Red Cross pass out donations. The Soldiers are very Appreciative."
