HIV infections soar among gays

New cases of HIV, which causes AIDS, jumped sharply among homosexual men in the United States from 1999 to 2002, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported yesterday.

The number of new infections climbed 17 percent for homosexual men in this period, compared with 7.3 percent for all men, the study revealed. It was published in the CDC's Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report.

Homosexuality is always going to be the carrier and transmitter of ever more deadly diseases.

1000 years from now what ever new diseases there are it'll spread first through the homosexual and intravenous drug user communities and then to us through bisexuality.

In a telephone interview yesterday, Dr. Rob Janssen, director of the CDC's AIDS division, said black men continue to account for more than half (55 percent) of new HIV diagnoses in the country, making them the hardest-hit population.

More blacks killing blacks.

I wonder if Je$$e blames white America for that also.

Remember Anita Briant?

She warned the gays at one of their early 1980's rallies, that God gave her a message for her to warn them of a coming disaster and to repent from their ways.

She lost her Florida Orange Juice promotions contract, she was ridiculed and her career was severely injured because of it.

The Gays did not repent and the rest is a matter of historical record. Gay marriage won't change anything either because most of them view "open" marriage as a healty alternative.

I totally agree with you that these gay parasites waste our money. But there is an upside.

The HIV virus is mutating rapidly in the gay carriers. New strains are harder to control. Again good riddence.

No problem - with a prescription drug benefit for seniors in Medicare - the definition of eligibility will be broadened so that HIV + can qualify even if not of senior vintage. That way gays can continue engage in reckless promiscuity and get their drug cocktails on the taxpayers nickel.

I happened to be reading Morbidity and Mortality Weekly back in 1981 when the first signs of an epidemic were beginning to be noticed. At that time there was initially some thought that the disease which were shoring up were part of “Gay Bowel Syndrome” a delightful mix of venereal diseases and symptoms which were then part of the life.

In 1986 I attended a series of lectures by Dr. Howard Temin, Nobel Prizewinner for having identified the mechanism of reverse transcription RNA – long before it was expressed in the Human Immunodeficiency Virus. At that time he was estimating the lifetime cost of treating a person with AIDS at something less than $100k. In those days that lifetime wasn’t very long. Today – the AIDS cocktails are taken for a long time – these folks seem to live as HIV+ for decades now. Who is paying the cost of these drugs and what is the expense?

This is not merely a reckless behavior in terms of public health effects – but a reckless behavior in terms of the costs it foists on the average taxpayer.

I believe Bubba Clinton was the last President to fund AIDS research as well as treating the already stricken. Today, it seems that most of those drug costs comes from private donations and foundations, etc...

Drug companies also experiment on some of these cases and foot most of the expence.
